SO I've ordered a 2014 and will need to do something now with my 2011 V6. Those of you that were in this bucket at some point, what did you do with your car? Sell supercharged, or pull off supercharger and sell unit and car separately (or trade in car without supercharger)? Or trade in with the whole package to the dealership? I'm just trying to see who had success with which method or recycling. I've got about a month and a half before the new car comes in, so any advice you might have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!

Afraid my hubby already has a street bike, and I have no need for one. If he didn't it would be a good trade.

Looked at trading in last fall for a 2014 vette. Dealer basically wouldn't give me a anything for the SC on top of the trade value. Came right out and told me take all mods off and sell separately because that what they will do if I trade in with the mods. Better market for stock unless your selling private.

agree 100%

dealers want the cars that they can get gm certified and sell used... mods dont mean anything to them....

Strip the car and trade it in. No need to lose more money on you mods in this case get no money for your mods. Then just sell them I sure there a person that would enjoy buying you sc.

Pm me for price on supercharger :)

riki3fan 02-10-2014 10:44 AM

Glad to see so much interest in the supercharger. I'm going to try to sell the car complete in a private party sale first, as I have several more weeks until the new car is here. If I can't sell it complete, I'll de-mod and get back to you all on a price for the kit. It's a good amount of work for the hubby to pull it off, so I don't want to make him do it unless I have to.

Also, please note that my kit is for the manual tranny, so you'd have to contact IPF regarding the items that would convert it to a kit for the auto, if there is a difference. You'll have to contact them for the tuning regardless, but wanted to make all aware if it comes to that.

Thanks!

You miss your supercharger that much?

fsusmithc2 02-26-2014 01:18 PM

Best of luck to you on the sale(s). As you've seen so far, even thinking of selling a used SC around here will cause people to foam at the mouth. ;) I'd bet you would make more money overall by selling separately but I understand why you want to try to keep it intact.

Taking something apart is a pain in the butt but 9 times out of 10, that's what people will ask for. I'm speaking from prior experience from my R/C helicopter hobby but the concept is similar.
