clear bra opinion

Hi I'm getting the clear bra done on my vert in 2 weeks , just not sure if I should do the full hood or just the front end w/12 to 18" of the hood. Has anyone got a opinion on this, I'm not sure how noticeable the line will be on a I.O.M.

Heres a question. Do you want to have a line across your hood? Because if you go the 12-18 inches route you will most likely be able to see where the clear bra stops.

That's why I'm asking here, the installer told me it's more noticeable on a darker car. So I'm asking if anyone with a I.O.M. has this done to let me know how it look's. Just not sure if it's worth the extra cash to do the whole hood or not.:iono:thank's

I've seen some done where you can't see the line at all. It really is up to the quality of the product and the installer.

Youll see it. Get the entire hood. Uncle had his SOM Camaro done and you could
see it

I got the whole package, front bumper, half of my hood, lights, turn signals, pillars, mirrors, rockers, fins, rear quarters. Best money spent. You can see the line a little.

I only did the fascia and I do have a few chips on my stripes now. Not many and probably not enough to regret doing part of the hood.

What I do regret is not doing the rockers and the gill area. Those areas are sandblasted after 1 year.

thank's for the input guy's I think I'll do the whole hood,rockers, gills,front end,lights. Thanks for that pic kevin1106

Do either the front end up to the hood line or the front end and the entire hood. I wouldn't do just part of the hood.

I did just my front end up to the hood line. My car is 2 years old and I've only got 1 tiny mark (pencil head size) on my hood.

Me too. Just did the nose clip and side gills.
After a year... I've got two tiny rock chips in the hood and a couple small scratches in the rockers. I don't regret not doing the hood... but I shoulda invested in those rockers.

My SS is black. I got what the installer called a "Bikini Cut" (unfortunately no chicks were involved). It comes back about 18" on the hood and fenders. I like the extended protection it gives, and it has saved both the hood and fenders from marble-sized rocks. The visibility of the line WAS a problem, until I started using Meguiar's Ultimate wax. (I think it's actually a synthetic polymer/sealant) It doesn't leave any white residue so the line is much less visible now.

I did the whole front end, sides up to the line on the door, rockers, and mirrors. No issues with chips since Nov 09. Skipped the hood based on the installer's recomendation. I have the factory stripes and he said there would be a visible line around them.
