Yes, but it looks as though my car's "factory" tune was pretty much spot on compared to most. Phil (my tuner) said that typically on a stock LS3 there isn't "that" much left in the tune. Sure I could have drove the car in "stock" hot right off the road and dyno'd it (taking the lowest dyno pull), then let it set for and hour and a half tune'd it, dyno repeat, dyno repeat etc and take the best pull...which is what some shops do in an effort to make their numbers look better....we didn't do that, we did hot pulls and took the best stock vs the best tuned/headers...they were all "hot" pulls...so yes, those gains include a tune (which is almost always necessary to get the most power out of any performance parts that are added).

as with everyone else on forum I am trying to determine what is best, if tune alone gets 23 HP/ 42 ft. lb. torque, will exhaust do more? what about CAI? it appears that a tune plus exhaust is only 3 to 5 HP more than tune alone. I am waiting also to see mpg improvement from tune. All I have observed is tune @ $300 to $650 = 23 hp/ 42 TK, tune plus exhaust = $2000 to $2500 for 3 to 5 HP, same torque. We are all in a learning curve, there are very few of us out there, all trying to get the most out of a great car. Will I try an exhaust? Yes, once I hear all of them, probably shorty headers (PA), CAI? want to see numbers, but could be best bang for the buck, now which one?
