2013ZL1vert 07-29-2013 09:18 AM

Other than a helmet and descent driving skills, do any of you know of anything else we're gonna need?

mmarx82 07-29-2013 10:30 AM

I'm bringing a canopy and some of this stuff:

I read somewhere though that lunch was supposed to be included for drivers but I can't find it so assume not true.

Yeah unless you're wanting rock chips and road grime all up the side of your fresh paint. I found that out the hard way at Commerce Dragway. :(

Also, I figured I would extend this offer to anyone interested.
I have a Hotchkis Engine Strut Brace bar I'm looking to sell. Fits all 2010+ camaros. Came off a show car in California that was being demodded. Less than 1000 miles on it. I bought it and never got around to installing it. Still in the bubble wrap I received it in! Comes with installation bolts and the full installation manual. Heck I'll help put it on haha, it'd be a good chance for me to get to know a few of y'all since I'll be in Statesboro.
I really just don't track my car enough to warrant having it. And I could use the $$$

Anyways, I'm wanting $250 for it as they're $330 or so new on eBay last I checked. But I'll work something out if need be. It's doing me no good sitting in my closet.
Only trades would be for firearms related items.

I found out that SCCA event 6 at Roebling Road Raceway is going to be an Autocross event. It is going to be $50 for preregistration and $55 on site and is open to anybody. Registration link below:
http://www.buccaneerregion.com/soloevents.html

On Sept 27 they are having a full track event which is part of a driving school event. That will be between $250-325. Full track events I found out are not available to convertibles however unless they have rollover protection. Here is the policy on that: http://www.hookedondriving.com/downl...nvertibles.pdf

I'm likely to go to event 6, definately will if everyone wanted to go instead of doing our usual Sunday meet. What do you guys think?

The email says you have to be there by 9:00 am, I believe they are opening the gates at 7:30, I'll prob get there between 8:00 and 8:30 as it's my understanding you can walk the track before everything starts. Being Roebling Road Raceway we might be able to drive it depending on how it's setup.

The Beaufort cars maybe a little late. We were leaving the foot of the Broad River Bridge at 1000 and will try to get there as fast as we can. thought the lunch departure was 1100

Jer4251 08-04-2013 07:52 AM

I need everyone there early so I can be fashionably late. Lol. If we say 11 then people might show up at 1130 and that's too late. Im a fat kid and i gotta eats

I met an owner of a black ZL1 with black wheels last week and he lives in Garden City along with my friend from work who also has a BRM ZL1 with black wheels. I plan to have them both (Larry & Mike) come out with me to my first meet in Sept with you guys seeing how I will be on vacation and not at work Labor Day weekend.

Rick.

My work schedule has been a conflict with the meet and next month would have been the same if it was not for my vacation. I only work have the month due to my 12hr schedule but it can get in the way of normal folks activity.

I have a strict policy not to let work get in the way of play.

habunow1 08-10-2013 04:24 PM

Anyone going to the D1 lot tonight.

Jer4251 08-10-2013 04:35 PM

Its no longer d1. Due to cops. Usually the plaza off 95/204. Changes often cause of cops

Everyone is meeting at the Starbucks for now until the cops make everyone move on.

mmarx82 08-11-2013 10:31 AM

So we probably need to figure out who's still going to be able to meet the first Sunday of next month. Are you guys still planning to meet?

I'll be out of town.

USMCSSGT-RET 08-11-2013 10:55 AM

Where's the pics from last Sunday? I didn't bring my camera, but I know some of you guys got some pics.

On a side note, I made it into Nashville safely yesterday. The Camaro did well over 8 hours, 550 miles. I'm so glad I drove my car and not the wife's Sonata. I was able to pack 6 suits, about 20 dress shirts, other shirts, a big suitcase, small suitcase, two coats, a speedbag, and a bunch of other stuff.

RLHMARINES 08-11-2013 12:29 PM

Which Starbucks are we talking about? The one next to pep boys on abercorn and montgomery crossroads, or the twin oaks shopping center near publix on abercorn, or the victory drive and skidaway Starbucks.

Jer4251 08-11-2013 12:46 PM

Its the one next to pep boys. But that's just for the sat night hangout. We still meet at d1 Sunday mornings like usual.
