Stripes on a ZL1
Seen on the ordering guide that you can get charcoal stripes on a ZL1? Anybody know what these look like? Have any pictures?

Optional stripe is approximately the same width as the hood insert and runs over the roof and the topside of the rear decklid only, extending the look of the hood insert back over the top of the ZL1. Color choices for the stripes in 2012 was black or carbon-fiber look (you could only order the stripe that would match the hood insert you were getting). Color choices for 2013 are dark grey or carbon-fiber look (again matched to the color of your hood insert). The black stripe is not available on 2013 ZL1s. The rally yellow ZL1 in the picture below has the optional stripe (you can see it on the roof).

if by charcoal you mean gray, then yes, i have the factory grey stripe. i ordered the flat black stripe but dealer installed wrong one... still looks sick though.

If you get a sunroof the stripe is deleted from the roof. You only get the stripe on the trunk and the spoiler. My car is black so the dark grey is hardly noticeable unless you are looking right at it.

Not sure about the stripe on the roof. Makes it look like a piggy bank slot.

Get the stipe! You can always remove it, later in life people will be doing clones and tributes and they all have stripes. How many 67-69 Camaros without stipes for sale, many didn't have them or are sporting a incorrect stipe. I know stipes are less popular now but clearly from a distance tells everyone your driving the king. Not to take anything away from any ZL1, just pro stripe.

I ordered the gray stripe with AGM paint and really like how subtle the stripe look is - sort of stealth on this color car. I couldn't be more pleased that Chevrolet took the time to change the stripe color on the ZL1. The darker version is wicked on AGM.

I like the look of the hockey stripes on the ZL1. Not a fan of the roof stripe. That's just me.

the ONLY disappointment I had when taking delivery of my 2013 car was finding the stripe is not on the roof when getting a sunroof. They still charge you the full $470 for what amounts to a 20 x 20 vinyl decal as shown in the photo.
It does not tell you that when buying online using the build it feature on the Chevy website, unless I missed it. The sales brochure does show it, which I saw after buying the car I think they should adjust the price by half as you know they have robbed you on that one! The roof skin is also different on sun roof car, flat instead of the 2 sculpted body lines down the center that non sun roof cars have |

One of the reasons I didn't want a sunroof is because I wanted the stripe going across the roof. I didn't order my car and it came without the stripe. I ordered the part and had the dealer install it. It adds another distinctive ZL1 feature as no other Camaro model gets this single fat stripe down the middle. Looks great imo..
