Hood liner for aftermarket hood?

Do I need one? I have an RK Sport Ram Air hood with heat extractors, should I invest in some heat shield anyway to protect the paint?

You don't need a hood liner - no worries. They are there more to reduce in cabin engine noise than for protecting the paint.
