Torq's latest Whipple Supercharger build, big power inside!

We just delivered our latest supercharged Camaro build and thought I would share some pictures and a video!

Marvin came to us with his spanking new 2010 2SS Camaro M6 straight from the dealer, he had only 69 miles on the clock when he fist showed up! Being a huge muscle car fan, he wanted a Camaro that would reminiscence the old school era with looks and sound, but with the power and driveability of a brand new car.

Showroom new!

We put together a package for him that suited his goals, and just a few days later got started with the build. For Stage 1 of this project, Marvin wanted at least 550-560rwhp, some suspension to get the power to the ground and of course some appearance mods to complete the package.

Project has started!

To reach his power goals we went with the following:
  • Camaro SS Whipple 2.9L Supercharger Kit
  • Camaro SS Kooks Custom Headers w/ Catted Connection Pipes
  • Camaro SS MBRP 3" Cat-back Exhaust

The awesome Whipple 2.9L Supercharger fits just perfect in there

We knew that these parts together would be plenty sufficient to reach his current goals, and also work great with his future plans as well. Details about that will come later!

To transform the Camaro into a Corner Carving beast and to help get all the newly found power to the ground we went to our good friends over at Pfadt Race Engineering. We have had awesome success with their parts and we can stand behind their product 100%!

Seeing that this is a pure street car, we wanted to add a little more responsiveness, feel and great handling without compromising the comfort and reliability of the great car GM created. To achieve that we put together the following package:

  • Camaro SS Pfadt Lowering Springs
  • Camaro SS Pfadt Adjustable Sport Sway Bars
  • Camaro SS Pfadt Adjustable Tie Rods
  • Camaro SS Pfadt Rear Trailing Arms
  • Camaro SS MGW Short Throw Shifter

A perfect stance is always a perfect stance

Last but not least we added our custom Black-Out kit that includes tinted tail lights, side markers and satin black tail-light bezels. And just to add that little extra to her we did a custom vinyl black out panel as well. The black offsets the red in such a perfect way, she tuned out great!

When the Custom Dyno Tuning was all said and done, our goals were reached and also exceeded! As they say, a picture can say more then a thousand words, so can a dyno graph! The outcome was 576RWHP/510RWTQ on our Mustangdyno with a very streetable power curve, just as the doctor ordered

Marvin will be back next week so we can mount his Custom made rims that should be arriving, as well as a very decent brake upgrade. This car is one mean machine and once those wheels and brakes are on it will look the part as well!

Here is a quick video we put together of the project, turn up the volume and enjoy the music of the LS3 and Whipple scream!

Thansk guys! As you can imagine Marvin was totally "blown" away with the found power! Going from bone stock with only a few miles on the clock, to this 650hp beast in just a matter of days is quite an experience.

Stay tuned for photos once we get the new wheels on, they are going to be so sick looking and really stand out.

The stock pulley from Whipple, boost was pretty much where we wanted it to be with the Whipple tube and stock airbox!

I tuned a 2.9 Whipple car, and I have to say... I love that supercharger. The way it makes power is PERFECT for a street car! 627/550 is what it made, and the owner almost wanted it pullied up to make less boost because he wasn't used to it! Nice build. That rear blackout looks great.

Why a Whipple and not a Magnuson or ProCharger.

If God asked you which one do you want as Lotto wining, a $2.3M or $2.9M, which one would you select? ;)
