Got 23000 miles on stock tires [PIC]

Hi,

Thought this might be interesting for those wondering how long their stock tires last.
Based on miles driven, I drive about 50% freeway, 30% "recreational" canyon runs, 20% city driving/stop and go.

The back left was completely bald, the others had gone past their wear marks. Since these tires treated me pretty well, and since there are limited options, I replaced with the stock goodyears.

I can't let mine get that bald. This is my DD and bald tires in the rain means trouble

I'm so glad there's people driving these cars instead of storing them hoping they turn into gold or something one day.

I got 23,000 on my pirellis before I blew a tire. I have the 21s and managed to find a set $1,000 cheaper than the originals.

where did you find tires that cheap??

It must not rain a lot where you are buddy? There's no way in hell those tires would last here in MS. The way it rains here, I would either be in a ditch or under a semi with tires that slick. I had about 8400 miles on mine and I could barely hold her steady in a heavy rain. Then again, the goodyears never really seemed all that goo in the rain anyway.

Its funny. I have 6000 miles on mine and the front tires have very little wear, however the back ones are twice as used up. What do you think causes that? :}

I'm just shy of 12,000 miles now, comparing mine to another Z with a little over 1,000 miles on them, I believe I can get another 10,000 miles easily.

Yeah, it doesn't rain that often. I generally have to get new tires just before rain season. I've found the car is surprisingly stable in the rain though, think its mostly due to the grooves we have in the roads around here.

got close to 20k out my first set too. they looked exactly the same as yours pictured. my right rear seemed to get the most wear but looks like your left rear is the worst. it even wore out quicker than my left rear after being replaced once at 3k miles

I am hoping mine will last a bit longer than you guys. I don't have that big boy engine in my car and one of the reason for that is I wanted better fuel efficiency out of mine, since I have long drives to work and second I did not have that much money to put in. But again I do have RS pkg on mine and I don't think the wheels would be that forgiving haha...
