Sitting in a ZL1 at the NY Auto Show!

First off, I have to thank fbodfather for making this possible. With out the help of him and his team, this wouldn't have happened overnight! Ok, so if you don't know, GM has a 2012 ZL1 on display at the NYC International Auto Show. I try to make it every year and usually spend the most time looking at the Camaro's and all the other great GM products. I got to see the ZL1 last year, it was on the rotating platform. I also saw it at BBOMG in Oshawa last year as well but haven't sat in one. So Scott made that possible today and I got to get me some Ultra-grin. I know some of you have your cars and are like "well that no big deal" but mine will not be built till june so this was a big deal to me. The car is barricaded at the show and they don't just let anyone sit in it. It truly made my day!

Scott, I owe you a tall one..:drinking:

Check out my sons shirt in the last picture, much ultra-grin in his future..

Oh man I was there, but they weren't having anyone touch it, let alone sit in it. Glad to have seen the black zl1 all the same.

Club Kart racing is a wonderful way of introducing a young one into the world of high performance driving.

Wow, the all black looks fantastic. Nice choice for indoor display. Congatulations to be able to feel the Beast. Just looking at it from distance can not compare to the sensory responses one gets from touching and feeling it. The car has a life to it. I'm really happy Scott did this for you, he's a great guy and I bet you can now hardly wait to get yours.  :chevy:

Congrats but I don't understand why they don't let you sit in them in the U.S. In Canada you can sit in it as long as you want.

Great photo's and Scott is awesome and GM is fortunate to have him as there
representative. I was able to sit in the red one at Frederick Maryland camaro
nationals back in June of last year due to his kindness.

Sweeet, my boy just turned 4 and he has the same love for Camaros. We got him the new yellow w/ black racing stripes, avigo 12 volt camaro for his 4th b-day. When he turns 16 my ZL1 Vert will be his ZL1. If you ask him what car he is gonna drive when he turns 16 he says Zeeeeee L-1. Its also sweet the F-bod let you sit in the car !!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone.

I bet you felt good sitting on the ZL1. I went to the show in Boston and they had the IMO there. I got to see exactly what I ordered. It seems this color is slight different from my 2010 SS/RS color. I also sat on it.
At the Boston show they let everyone sit. I opened the trunk, engine compartment and everyone were asking me questions about it like I was working for GM. It's funny the representatives from GM had no idea that some of the ZL1's were already built. I told them yes and as a matter of fact 500 to be exact. I went to the show on Sunday and they released the built ones on Friday. It was amazing how the spectators were surprised how I knew so much ( I know a woman, yes and proud of her camaros). Got a free T-shirt for me and 4 for my friends.
I also met the crew that built these cars for special racing. It was so cool to talk to them.
GM Please built my soon so I can meet my other ZL1 friends.

Thats awesome! Everyone that was standing around the car had this "who is this guy" look on their faces. I think sitting in it defiantly helped with the waiting, I also can't wait to meet up with some ZL1 friends. Checkout the older gentleman in the background with the scowl on his face! I have about 20 pictures of me getting in, sitting in and getting out of the car and that guy has that look on his face the whole time.haha I believe he was a GM employee, Scott, Who is this guy?
