Thinking about ordering a 1LE 1SS
So i'm strongly debating ordering a 1LE 1SS. Apart from the suspension, exhaust, and wheels, is the Dual mode exhaust included in the package. Do all the camaro's come with mylink now? How you guys liking it? Any auto-x'ers or track day'ers here?
I'm trying to justify getting a used 2SS and just prepping it for the occasional Auto-x and track day over getting a new slimmed down 1SS with the 1LE package. I've always been the bargain hunter and never been one to pay full price for a new car. So it's quite the dilemma, do i want to get a used 2SS and mod it to get me what i want for my track day purposes (Modding can be fun!) or do I get a head start with a 1LE 1SS. Money is always an issue because no one likes to spend too much of it, and although i have enough to drop on a brand new 1LE 1SS, I still am more of the conservative type and like to look for deals and bargains. Plus I'm cheap.... haha.. well not always i just think a lot before spending. |
I say buy the 1LE.

you could wait until next year to find bargains. :)

Dual mode is an option .......Other than that the 1LE package is worth well more than the 3500 price tag. You cant take a stock SS and make it compete with a 1LE for 3500 bucks. If you are buying new you would be crazy not to get the 1LE. Its the best bang for the buck that chevy offers....Look at the price of the dusk and the hotwheels edition's and they offer absolutely nothin to the car other than cosmetic ad ons for alot more money... Get the 1LE

Yea i was going to buy a nismo 370Z but after i saw this and heard all the good reviews i went and ordered mine back in Jan I say do it

Just price out what the wheels and tires cost and compare that to the price of the 1LE package.
A 1SS 1LE would be a very budget minded way to go. |

Wow I got whiplash reading your post. :D
The 2013 SS is an improvement in many areas over the earlier models add the 1LE package and you have, dollar for dollar, the best performance package on the market today. |
You can go to the Chevy website and do a build your own and you can see everything that is standard and optional and price it out the way you want. Then you can print off the results and take it to the dealer and start negotiating.

lol dayum... well see if i can't make an appointment with a dealer and see where i'd be looking if i get one ordered. Been watching videos all night of them. Driving me nuts. If the price tag runs close to 38k i might just end up going for a used C6 Z06 :)

If you do go with a used SS make sure it's a 2012 and up....so you aren't going broke from changing the FE3 suspension to the FE4 which is what the 1LE is based on.
FE3 cars suck for handling |
well if i got a used SS i would just go straight aftermarket like pfadt or pedders. They had some nice track/street kits on their website. granted some of those a long were close to 4k but i was looking at used SS's in the mid to high 20's. Camaro's aren't selling so well used here. Found a fully loaded orange 2SS/RS go for 26,500 from a dealer. It was sold before i could pursue it. it had ~6,000 miles. People here in seattle don't drive sports cars year round so a lot of them have super low miles.

If you like modding, the 1LE/npp is a much better starting point. Well in my opinion it is. Start adding headers, hf cats, a udp and a tune, just standard mods; 1LE will be a beast.
