Alcantara cleaner for Z/28 interior

Thought I'd share these two products. I haven't had to clean my Alcantara yet, but I wanted to be ready.

I ordered the Sonax: LINK HERE...

... but there's also this product: LINK HERE

I bought a suede bloc yesterday to clean my shifter and steering wheel and it worked well enough. Made a bit of a mess though but the suede is back to almost new.

Adam's Polishes have a good way going about cleaning the Alcantara.

Hope I don't get in trouble for posting this... It's very informative.

I've used water from a spray bottle and a detailing brush - works nicely as well.

It's good to have your knob freshened once in a while:whistle:

Ordered the Sonax... gonna use it with a toothbrush and microfiber towel on my steering wheel. Not in bad shape. Just want it clean it to keep it fresh.

Tried the dawn dish soap just now and it worked perfect. The shift knob looks new! However, didn't take the knob off. Just put a small towel around the based to catch the water. Then wet the knob with a wet micro towel. Added a drop of dawn and then scrubbed with a tooth brush, Rinsed the brush in a small cup of water (could really see the dirt come off) and then used a wet micro towel to wash the suds off. Then dried with another towel. 5 minutes tops. May do the steering wheel next.

Glad this thread was revived... now I have a car related thing to do this weekend in the rainy NJ winter!

Thanks for the instructions!

I bought a cheap steam cleaner on amazon that seems to do the trick!

More dirt attracts to the knob if all the soap isn't rinsed. Need to really dilute dawn for is all to be released from the alacantara. I'd remove the knob and brush the knob submerged in water in a glass a few times. Amazing to watch the debris fall out

How easy (or not) is the knob to remove? Any tricks to releasing it?
