Visiting Phoenix
 

Hi Guys,

I will be visiting Phoenix in early February to watch my sister in a college softball tournament. It is going to be a nice change in scenery and not to mention a nice temperature change :D

Anyway, do you guys from Phoenix or that area have any suggestions on good attractions/things to see/do in and around Phoenix. I will have a rental car, so I will be able to drive to see some stuff.

We are going to a Phoenix Suns game but other than that have no specific plans on what to do or see while we aren't watching the softball tourney.

Just thought some of you guys from that area would have some good suggestions :D

I'm not in Phoenix, but might I recommend the South Rim/Grand Canyon? :D

ya. i was thinking of that. but i have been told that it is a 3-3.5 hour drive one-way to the Grand Canyon. Thats a little far for a day trip for me...although I would really love to see it.

South Mountain park, Camelback Mountain, The Phoenix Zoo, Out Of Africa wildlife Park, Phoenix Botanical Gardens, Papago park, Oldtown Scottsdale, Rawhide....

The list goes on....

Scottsdale Pavillions on Saturday nights.

i must have lived here too long then. cuz i cant think of anything "cool" to do here lol

but the grand canyon would be worth the drive

Horseback riding at the South Mountain Stables with dinner at the end of the trail.
Sunday brunch at the Camelback Inn.

Sedona isnt to far north...that is pretty cool.

Since you are most likely a car guy the Pavilions on Saturday nights is really cool. Lots of nice cars...its like a weekly car show. Its at Indian Bend and the 101.
Too bad you wont be here the end of January because the Barrett Jackson auto auction is here...thats really cool...I work right next to there yay :)

How long you going to be here? The Coyotes are playing the Stars on Saturday.

Arrive Tues. Leave on Sunday.

We are going to the Suns vs Portland basketball game on Wednesday. Wanted to see something different, we get enough hockey up here :D

Also going to drive up to the Grand Canyon and visit some of the parks inside Phoenix.

Hope to see some Camaros on the road! :D If I see any I'm definitely giving them the thumbs-up or the :headbang:

Suns lost tonight!!! My first NBA game and they lost. Oh well still had tons of fun. Got a couple shirts and whatnot.

What time and what side of Arizona Mills mall are u guys meeting on Sat? My hotel is right by there and I was thinking of coming o er in the morning to check out some cars before u guys leave for your cruise.

We are meeting there between 8:30am and 9am. Hoping to be leaving at 9am.
We always meet in the south west corner main parking lot for the mall.
It is easiest to find us by going in the entrance on Baseline rd (1600 W Baseline Rd, Tempe, AZ 85282). Then make a left, when you get to the T with the main loop (Arizona Mills Circle). We will be parked on your right as you drive by.
