Car Shopping - Is this actually a 1LE?

I am car shopping and have become partial to the 2014+ 1LE's but they are not all in my price range. This one has the hood but what's up with the wheels and calipers?? The VIN checks out as a 1LE as well. Is it possible that they mix and matched some of the options even on 1LE models?

The price is attractive but some aspects of the car look a little rough.

Nothing on that car implies it's a 1LE. No suede shifter or steering wheel. Missing front lip. No painted calipers. No wrapped hood or satin spoiler. Not to mention standard SS wheels.

Definitely not a 1le

JoeyBagOfDonutz 06-04-2018 07:15 PM

Agree with above. Nothing on that car shows it's a 1le

What about the hood? Someone posted, perhaps inaccurately, if the 5th letter is "T" that means 2SS 1LE:

Either way I will avoid this one...it looks a bit abused.

I'm sure it's inaccurate. I don't think you can tell if it's a 1le by the vin. https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=530405
Killer price on a nice 1le

Make it a road trip. I bought mine in Rochester ny, and than went to Niagara falls.

That's kind of what I was thinking but I have no more vacation days to use this year and doubt I could do it in a weekend. Nor would I want to try.

Could always have a car shipped. Or have a couple "sick" days at work

BadFrog 06-05-2018 06:46 AM

The Vin will NOT indicate a 1LE , if you want to be sure the Car you are looking at is a true 1LE, Look at the production codes under the mat in the trunk and find the "1LE" code.

ZEN357 06-05-2018 06:53 AM

Doesn't look like it's a 1LE to me.

Yellow Bullet 06-05-2018 08:10 AM

Not to mention it doesn't have the 3.91 gearing

nancygrl 06-05-2018 08:57 AM

Most certainly not a 1LE. Only way to tell is to find the sticker with all the build codes to see if 1LE is listed. It just looks like a plain 2SS
