2nd Annual Camaro5Fest C5F II ???

Well I missed it this year......but hell if I'm gonna miss next years!!!!

Where's it gonna be?:iono:

Now for the next logical question.

Whats the word on C5Fest 2011? :D

01pewterz28 04-19-2010 12:41 PM

Well the track would love to have us back in South Georgia the impression I got on Saturday after the car show portion and parade laps is that we will be back again next year.

I am sure the Camaro5 mods are going to look into this hard it is the perfect location after all the Fbody Gathering is entering it's 14th year at the same location and we still pack the cars in every year.

Don't forget the other 1/2 of the country who only a few could make it that far! ;)

If it is the same place I'll be there and will bring more people with me! It was great!!! Sorry I missed the car show & parade laps though but all day at the track in the sun was tiring (not to mention all the beer consumed Friday night);)

Be there in a heartbeat!

Dirtdog 04-19-2010 01:57 PM

Vegas sounds cool. St Louis or Dallas,Texas maybe? If it could be centralized it'd be easier for more to attend.

Havok1327 04-19-2010 01:58 PM

I'd vote for St. Louis...says the guy 30 minutes from STL. :)

themossman 04-19-2010 02:04 PM

Population density is much higher on the eastern seaboard...so while it would be 'nice' for the west coasters...I think it would make more sense to keep in within driving distance for the 'majority'

Personally, I would like to see it held at a road course....so what facilities have both a road course and a strip? And can handle an ever BIGGER event next year?

Population density is all well and good, but you need to be looking at numbers that apply to active Camaro5 members, rather than national statistics. Our west coast meet appears to be closing in on 200 cars.

I like Valdosta........somehow I survived the pollen and the people were all really cool.

But I agree, I request a real road track for the next Fest.

Double that...and you'd still be short of what showed up in South Georgia this weekend. Not trying to be controversial...and I get your point (and agree), but I'd be willing to bet that if there's ANYWHERE in the country that has a higher concentration of 'Camaro fans'...it would be the south-eastern US. Did I just stereotype us all???? :D

Mr Smith 04-19-2010 02:42 PM

We definitely woulda went this year if it wasnt so far away. Maybe a West Coast chapter meet...Vegas in Oct sounds good!

Road Atlanta has a great roadcourse! Don't think there is a drag strip though...

Agreed, if we can't come up with a happy medium before next year, then I vote we form a west coast chapter and have a west coast camaro5 fest.

That would be awesome....A sub-meet in conjunction with Hot August nights in Reno could be something we think about as well..If people were interested.

Skip anything official for Hot August nights...To register and be a part of the shows you have to have something 1972 and older.

EXACTLY! We have almost half the population of C5F showing up to a WEST COAST meet. You guys may have had 500 or so members at C5F, but they were from all over, including Canada! If we can pull half that from just three neighboring states out west--I'd say we have a pretty high concentration of members.

I don't know that area very well, but I'd be there if we set something up.

Mr Smith 04-19-2010 03:23 PM

If anyone that runs C5 is officially interested in something like a "West Coast" meet in the Reno/Tahoe area or this gains momemtum ill certainly be game into being a local hookup to help get it arranged.

It might be cool if everyone were to get accommodations in Reno, cruise to Tahoe for a meet, the cruise back to Reno to party.

Camaro Freak 04-19-2010 04:41 PM

I hope it stays in the South East. I missed it this year, but will defintely attend next year if it is in Valdosta Ga or anywhere close.

ljustin293 04-19-2010 04:45 PM

I say it has to be back at the same place, perfect facility, not to crowded...could you imagine trying to do a cruise in Vegas??? The track wants us back, restaurants are posting on our forum thanking us and already offering things if we come back.

Milk 1027 04-19-2010 04:48 PM

When we come to a decision for next year we will let everyone know. Like I said in other threads. It's too early to talk about it now.

Camaro5fest is a community event. We don't want to isolate ourselves or form "chapters" it would only break apart the community.

I'm with Milk on this one. Why make two kinda big events when there can be one BIG A$$ed event. We make it a two or three day event and it'll be extra worth the traveling for those wo can do it and those who can't can come when it gets close to them.

But I think it was Scott who mentioned that if we get it going a full year in advance, it would be even bigger.

Yeah I could imagine it...Have you been to Vegas lately? Ever been to the track?
