Depends what you want it for. I would have said V1 over everything then Redline depending where you life. But you already bought the 9500 and thats a good detector also :)

They just came out with a new one called a max But if your looking to pick one up today google reader randy he has reviews on all of them

I bought a V1 firs because I liked the arrows concept, it worked for 3 days and then wouldn't pick up front signals. I returned it and bought the 9500 ... It's fantastic.

My favorite part about the 9500ix is the fact that it picks up on known alerts and false alarms. After driving around for a week or so it cancels out all the junk so when it does go off you know to slow down. The other detectors without this feature are overly annoying with false alarms and auto doors and speed signs.

For an out of the box detector it works fine. But if you were to really deep down into the features of other detectors you could customize it to be perfect for YOU. the 9500 is escorts most sold detector so they must be doing something right but I'd personally rather have 100% security and 10% annoyance then 98% security and 2% annoyance.

I don't understand this. Mine goes off long before I see them and have yet to get a ticket while using one. Seems to be 100% effective to me and 0% annoyance.

Same here. I get signals long long before I see them. I've learned to always always always trust certain alerts on the 9500...

Here primarily Ka is always a cop. X usually not and K tends to be speed signs.

Guys, bought an Escort 8500ci from a local dealer with maybe 1 Camaro install. Any suggestion on the cleanest look for the dedicated 2/3"H x 2" W x 3/4"D controller?
* Integrated into the automatic shifter center console?
* In a mini custom enclosure mounted directly under the passenger seatbelt message plate near the mirror?

Re: the included Escort SAT receiver, am looking for mounting suggestions on that also since my OEM SAT shark fin antenna matches my red body/roof. I believe you can mount the Escort SAT receiver inside, under the windshield with an adapter.

Any suggestions and/or experience? Thanks much.

When you guys say V1 are you referring to Valentine? I hear many great things about that. one.

What I needed was a solid red light and speed camera in toen with decent range on the highway for Smokey. So far the Escort Passport anti-smokey device has worked like a charm and it keeps learning.

I'm not trying to outsmart Sheriff Buford T.Justice with it just using it as a warning to check my speed,

They have it on sale for $449 and worth every penny.
