Lowering springs

My next mod will be to lower the 1LE possibly.

I kinda want opinions and pictures from other 1LE owners.

I know we have better spring rates/sways/shocks than a normal SS. So I want to make sure since most springs are for a SS that im not actually down grading by putting them on.

So please post your car and what you are running. Maybe get this as a sticky in the future.

As she sits she is just TOO DAMN HIGH.

I just install these 2 weeks ago they are BMR 1.4" the car sits and looks perfect but as far as ride quality i am thinking to go back to the OEM springs

I'm in love with my PFADT drop springs. The handling is pretty much the same and the look is perfect. Of course I'd rather go coil over but, meh...It handles and rides awesome as is.

1LE and SS springs are the same.

If you stock with springs of the 1" variety, you'll generally maintain a good ride quality and you're not reducing the travel of the dampers by too much. The Hotchkis or BMR 1" springs would be my recommendation if coilovers are out of the question.

Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions

I don't have a 1LE but my BMR 1" springs don't ride too bad, it was a mild increase in ride stiffness. It's a DD for me and I do find some bumps that are a bit harsh but not too often.

CTSVBiggie 08-30-2014 09:57 PM

can yallo post pictures showing your drop as well? My V was on H&R springs and was LOW. So I dont MIND it but I really do enjoy the 1le for the ride and handling as is and dont want to mess that up.

I thought the 1LE had different spring rates to go with the monotube shocks and bigger sways.

Here is my V

Nope, do a search and you will find a few threads on this. The 1LE uses stock SS springs.

Chevrolet nailed the ride quality/performance balance with our 20 inch wheel setups, and it's very rare for me to praise an OEM setup.

Alas, the "look" is a still a tad too high as far as fender to tire gap goes, but for the first time in my life, I think I'm going to have to live with it, and completely pass on lowering.

Agree the gap is too high for sure. I was able to find a set of Pedders springs just for the rear. About 1/2" difference in height make the gap much better. The car sits level and NO change in ride or handling. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...cd67c69d42.jpg

I pulled this off my Instagram because I'm on my phone.

I'm running BMR 1.4" springs and I love them. The stance is perfect. Handling is great. The ride is a bit stiff but who cares?! Lol

CTSVBiggie 08-31-2014 06:00 PM

Now im under the impression that the BMR springs are the same spring rate for its 1" and 1.4".

joshxjosh 09-09-2014 04:29 PM

Has anyone heard anything about the BMR 1.25" springs?

That's correct, 220 front / 460 rear. For a 0.4" difference, our spring rates work great for both.
