Used reg oil instead of synthetic in SS

So I took my 2010 SS to the dealership to change my oil (first mistake:facepalm:) on the way out of town, and when I paid I realized they had used regular instead of synthetic, the main hint being it was 40$ cheaper..

They said it wouldn't hurt having regular in it for one oil change but offered to drain it and replace it with synthetic if I'd like. I was in a hurry so I didn't, but I'm wondering if I should first thing Monday?

Or will it really be okay having regular in it for one oil change, and if so is there anything I should avoid? Such as going over 150 on the interstate...:burnrubber:

What a bunch of maroons! I'd make 'em change it out, just out of principle.

It will not hurt a thing. If they said they would change it out, then at your first chance have them do it. Otherwise you can wait until you next oil change to go back to synthetic.

Get it changed on Monday, like you said, before the dealership changes their mind about the free synthetic change out. Besides the way you tell it you will be getting $40 of free synth.

idk how many miles your cars has but i know going from a car thats had reg oil to synthetic with high miles can cause leaks but like i said idk your situation i would put the syn just bexause its better for your car

Synthetic is a better deal of you use your oil life sensor and top off your oil every 3k miles (most change thier oil sooner). They always ask me and ALWAYS say please use synthetic and make a note to not ask me about regular again.

Stop immediately your engine is going to self destruct.

Did they at least use dexos oil?

Won't hurt anything.

I run conventional Valvoline VR1 oil. Engine runs better in my opinon. Quieted the drivetrain down.

Wouldn't worry about it at all. Just wait until your next 3,000 to 5,000 mile oil change.

Your car came factory fill with Mobil 1. Mobil 1 is fine if youre stock. They really have taken a nose dive since the EPA has gotten a lot stricter with their regulations. If you have modified internals, (cam, springs etc...) there is much better options out there. VR1, Joe Gibbs, Amsoil being your best options.
