Clutch Sticking?
So in the morning when it's below 55° or so, the clutch stays about halfway down, until I manually pull it up with the edge of my foot. I don't have any other issues...What's causing this and how do I fix it?

Uhhh...Why was my topic MOVED from transmission and driveline? I wasn't asking a f'n warranty question. My car has 50K f'n miles for f's sake.

See...This is why shit doesn't get answered around here.

It is more than likely due to dirty clutch fluid, in combination with the fluid being cold.

Ask your dealer for a copy of bulletins pertaining to clutch pedal sticking. I remember seeing something on repositioning the master cylinder for a cold pedal stick problem. You loosen it up, pull the pedal a certain way... retightnen the M/C. But, get the exact bulletin procedure.
As previously mentioned, changing the fluid helps if it has ever been overheated. I would do any bulletins first, then the fluid change, then as a last resort start changing parts like the slave cylinder... |
moved back to the transmission subforum per your request

have you ever changed the fluid?
ligenfelter also offers a clutch return spring you can add I have a seperate reserve for the clutch and change the fluid at each oil change and haven't experienced this yet. |

That's the bulletin number I was thinking of. Ask your dealer to show that to you. I found the number, but I can't find the bulletin. If anyone else has bulletin access maybe they could post it for you. If I remember it was basically loosening the pedal assembly, pulling the pedal all the way up and retighten while holding all the way up. Just repositions the pedal assembly to M/C better. I remember that was specific to the cold sticking problem. That's one possibility, others being the fluid or slave cyl condition. |
Thanks, all. I saw the TSB online, but it doesn't give the fix. Is this a powertrain warranty item? I replaced the brake fluid when I did the front pads. How hard is adding a separate resevoir for the clutch? Is it just the GTO part?
