Excellent showing by both the V6 and V8 1LE, with the V8 being only 1 second behind the Stingray Z51. I also see the GT350R was SLOWER than the 2015 Z/28, Ford fans won't like that one bit. Great lap by the GS Vette as well, ahead of the McLaren 570S, and only 0.1 behind the 911 GT3 RS.

The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro V6 1LE is very fast. :clap2:

Where did you find this? Is the full write-up available somewhere?

Also amazing that a sub 45K Camaro can now run a virtualy identical lap time to a Ferrari 430 that cost 170K in 2008 at VIR.

...and that is no regular F430. It was a Scuderia.

Thanks for posting this. Is the magazine on newstands now or available online?

I really wish they would have tested a standard 1SS manual and a GT350 Track Pack as well, but still very happy they included both 1LEs which both performed very well. The GT350R time (3 full seconds ahead of the 1SS 1LE) is really impressive!

Rather impressive. I like that the 1LE V6 is nipping at the heals of a vehicle with twice as much power (Hellcat), and yes I know its not really a road course car. Impressive that the V8 1LE is right there with the Cayman GT4! Most impressed with the Corvette Grand Sport! Punching way above its price point!

Your right, I totally missed that. That makes it even more amazing.

Note the V6 1LE was over a second faster than the 2015 Mustang GT PP. 100HP down and still faster, the alpha is really an amazing chassis.

The V8 dropped behind the M4 GTS after being slightly quicker at Laguna in the Motor Trend test. I assume that is down to power playing a bigger role at VIR than LS with a couple of long straights. Still it's six seconds faster than the base M4 for half the price.

7 seconds from 5th gen 1LE to 6th gen 1LE. *

*yes, I know VIR was repaved in 2014 but that still puts a good idea on how much the new hardware really improves the 1LE.

Ehh. Different years, different times. I do think the PP is a bit soft, but I still think it would outperform the V6 1LE by a few seconds.

GT PP beat by the V6 1LE.... OUCH!!! That is impressive, and I have some friends with GT's that will be very unhappy with this result haha

man this thing beats out Cayman/Boxsters Rs, GT3s, C6zs of a few years agoo

also beats down the M4 for half the price.
