Exhaust Note difference between L99 and LS3?

I know it is hard to describe sound but for those that have heard both, what is the exhaust note difference going to be between the L99 and LS3 at startup and idle? Obviously once AFM kicks in and the engine is running at 4 cylinders, the exhaust note changes, however is there much of a difference between the two in the other area's considering it is practically the same engine? I saw those pictures of Scott and the team with the headphones on so he might be the only one in this forum who can answer this.

My guess is there will be no difference when all 8 cyls are running. The Cam is a little more mild in the L99 so that could change the "sound" of the engine a little. But I'm betting the exhaust notes will be pretty damn close to each other.

this is a very good question. I would like someone high up to look into this.

Anyone else can chime in.

when cruising you wont even notice it (you might notice the lack of a tone due to half the sound being created).

Scott has said already they are working on the regular sound as with the AFM, it sounds slightly different than the LS3, not bad, just different.

honestly as long as it sounds strong and sounds mean when you get on the throttle, i could care less how it sounds when im cruising.

I remember reading one of scott's posts that said they had to change up the exhaust on L99. When 4cyl mode chimes in it is said to make a funny noise...so he said it would be slightly more resonated.

I imagine that the exhaust will be a bit quieter on the L99 than on the LS3 Camaros because of what a 3.1L V4 would sound like.

Ditto, but I dont want mine to drone all the time. I only want the growl when I WOT so it will be a CIA upgrade for me, prolly K&N.

Yeah i want something that is loud but not like straight pips they are not a controlled enough of a sound.

Cut the mufflers out and run 4" tips out the back, or turndowns if cost is a factor, that shouldnt prompt any check engine lights

I actually don't mind that the AFM will be quiet when cruising. It would be fun to mash the pedal next to some unsuspecting Mustang owner just to give them a jolt. :D

Does the car run on 4 cyl at idle ? someone help me over the fence
