driving with cam??

Can I drive my car after a can swap without a tune...just for a couple days?? I put the night fury in it.

POWERFREAK 05-17-2013 08:05 AM

I wouldnt. If you do, go real easy on it, it's not gonna run right.

LeanPocket 05-17-2013 08:06 AM

yes you can, drive it to ricks and get it tuned asap

trans665 05-17-2013 08:45 AM

I can't.. until Monday or Tuesday...lol but I miss driving my car

DuskSS 05-17-2013 08:59 AM

do not drive it.
do your heat cycles and then get to to the tuner or have him send you a tune that is safe to at least drive it on if you have a handheld.

drive it very gingerly if you do.

litle88 05-17-2013 09:19 AM

^^^im with him, but if you do have to drive it to the tuner (ONLY) then please please please make sure those springs have a few heat cycles (completely cold to running temps for a Lil while), and DO NOT get on it.

This goes for the rest of the times. Please make sure your car is warmed up at running temps before you get on it, springs need heat so avoid broken springs. Ask me how I know lol

trans665 05-17-2013 09:26 AM

First ..how do I do the heat cycle??... second..I think I will tow it to my tuner then.

From cold to run temps like mentioned above.
If you can tow it, that would be your best bet. Just makes it easier and a peace of mind if it was my car.

Bell040 05-17-2013 10:07 AM

I drove mine ~ 60 miles without any problem (to the tuner)... except for the engine stalling at every red light and stop sign.

trans665 05-17-2013 10:16 AM

Yeah.. my tuner is 50 miles form my work.... and that's where I did my swap at

Strange Flavor 05-17-2013 10:20 AM

You should be able to drive it to the tuner, it won't run very well but DO NOT run it hard.

willhe64 05-17-2013 10:47 AM

Tuner should be able to send to a base tune that is good for you combo.

When the motor is cold, start it run it for a while then shut it down tip it's completely cold. Start the process all over again. Do this a few times.
