Why aren't there any Aqua Blues yet?
 

I looked at the vin tracking thread and noticed that there has not been any aqua blue cars built yet. Does anyone know the reason for this? I have one ordered and I am currently at status 3400. I ordered on October 13th.

They only made 4 or 5 IOM's also (in the first couple days of production) and have made none since. No IBM either. They had announced CGM was on constraint, they should have announced that for the IOM and blue colors too since that is effectively what has happened. I don't know why they are so "hush hush" on this whole color issue.

Thanks...now theres more to the mystery. For the CGM they had a reason and a constraint. For IOM and blues though we don't know what the heck is going on.
Actually its only because I ordered an IOM. I forgot to tell you about this black cloud that follows me around.....

I ordered my 2SS in aqua blue and i'm wondering why there is hardly any production of the blues, ordered back on oct 13th and i'm still sitting at 1100, and i'm priority 1 at my dealer. Is there a production problem with the blues or just waiting to do a bunch of them with the CGM?

I am also wondering the same thing I am the next car to go at my dealer and I ordered orange. Does anyone at the plant have any inputs on the select colors not being pumped out like the silver, black, red and yellow are?

I think they are waiting for a supplier to deliver the Blue SS front Fascias to the plant....I think they are ready to go but it may be just a slight supplier issue. I can not speak for IOM ..but maybe they are going to do a new RUN of different colors in the near future...(crossing fingers)

I think they can only paint so many colors at a time.

So when they start producing orange and the blues are they going to stop making the black, yellow, silver and reds so that the production can match up? If so, its going to push back the TPWs that those customers are getting now. If they don't stop producing the existing colors and dedicate the line to the neglected colors it will be quite a delay in filling the orders for the orange and blue cars.

Don't worry about it. It's just not practical for them to shoot every single car that day. Probably the best way is to shoot (paint) a few cars of the same color. You have to change the paint feed out and clean stuff each time you change paint.

Relax... your getting probably a more rare color so you'll be rewarded for the patience.

I was #2 at my dealer and my IBM went to 3000 last week. Do you know if #2 (or higher) has passed you up at your dealer? Does your dealer have any cars past 1100?

This seems plausible. Maybe the fascias are manufactured at a different facility and painted and then shipped. This may shed some light into why the original no blue on SS thing. Maybe the v6 fascia is built at a separate plant from the SS fascia and the SS plant couldn't do as many colors as the other one so they decided to ditch the blues? But then when they saw the demand they had to figure out a different solution. The SS fascia plant could still be working on getting those other colors going. But if this was the case, why not put a constraint on blues? It's not like they are afraid of putting a constraint on even the post popular of colors so the conspiracies don't really make much sense.
They can paint 10 colors at once. They don't change the colors very often at all. Hence the delay on CGM and white.
As ridiculous as it may seem, I think this just might be the case. I haven't heard of any US Camaros that got pulled in week 1 that were blue. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Those colors aren't really traditional muscle car colors (hence GM not even offering them at first) and people that ordered #1 at their dealer are most likely to be the very traditional type people who are big Camaro fans.

They are waiting for Blue SS fascia's from the supplier...They are manufactured and painted by a supplier. just stating what I have been told. :iono:
