Bay Area AutoX 1/29
 

Autocross is starting back up in the Bay Area again!

The next one will be hosted by NorCal UFO. It's going to be happening @ Marina Airfield in Marina, CA. (About 10 mins north of Monterey.)

It runs from 7am-530pm.

AutoX is a great way to have fun with your car without having to worry about damaging your car. The course is setup using cones on an open airfield. If you slide off the course, the worst thing is that you are going to be hitting a small plastic or rubber cone. Some people even take up parts of their car, such as the bumper to prevent scratches and small rocks from hitting the car.

A couple of us were regularly doing this last year and had a blast. It'd be nice to have even more Camaros rolling out to these events.

At each event you are asked to work the event for one group. You basically watch for any cones someone might run over and set them back up.

This is the registration sheet. Pricing per person is $35, and for 2 people (using the same car) the price is $60.

I'm a maybe. On a wait-list for training that weekend and most probably wouldn't get in - so wouldn't know until the same week.

Josh: It sounds like workers can video tape the drivers while on the course? Can we tag team with my video camera? Assuming I go, of course :).

I might be down for this! Can you register and pay that morning or do you have to do it in advance? Where did you say there was a store that sold helmets? Somewhere along the peninsula?

You can show up that day and pay at the gate if you want. You just need a helmet and they do a light tech inspection for any leaks or slices in the tires.

My cousins coming into town tomorrow and he wants to do a ride along with me for a track day. I'm considering going to buttonwillow but wont know for sure until tomorrow.
