Down-Payment Due Date?

Hello Everybody,
I have been saving up a good chunk of change to place as a down-payment on a new SS. I have been contacting dealers in my area to try and figure out some details regarding pricing, financing and other important dates. I have read all the info on the site regarding pricing, but I just want to hear what they have to say. The biggest question I have right now for those who have ordered is when do they have to have their full Down-payment into the dealer?

I know how much I will be able to save over the next couple months, but I can't get a clear answer as to when to expect to have my money ready. I would assume that it would be upon delivery? Any info you all have will be appreciated.

Thanks!

I was told by my dealer that the financials (past the initial $500 to pre-order) would not go down until the car arrived on the lot. I do plan on financing over several years and was told the first payment would not be due until after at least the 1st month of ownership, maybe 2 depending on what part of the month the transaction takes place. I expect any additional down payment added to the original $500 would be surrendered on the day the deal goes down at point of Camaro delivery. :happyanim: Hope this helps. :D

If you handle your financing outside of GM, i.e. with a credit union or your own financial institution of choice, then you would walk into the dealership on the day of Camro delivery with a Cashier's check (I think that's what they call it) in your hand for the whole amount. Then make payments to your financial institution of course.

It's been a while for me so maybe the transaction is more electronic between the dealer and your bank. Not sure how far the banking industry has come in regards to car loans and such. :iono:

Thanks Guys,
I guess the real question is when to expect my car to come in.
I'll have the money for sure in 6 months, but probably could scrape it together in 4.
I should probably just head to the dealer and see what they say.
