Allocation up at MSRP

With regret, I have decided to give up my allocation as I just brought home a new 2012 corvette. I did keep it in the family however I was a little disappointed with the lack of communication GM provided. I completely understand their position however and obviously given the purchase I just made, I aint mad at you GM :)

Anyways, I would like to still be apart of the camaro5 forum as I feel this forum is one of the better ones out there on the net so I will be chiming in from time to time. I do still have my SS but it will be sold (hopefully) this Sunday.

Now, to the car. It is at MSRP (in writing) and just today (go figure) hit 3300 status.
The car is ashen gray, 6speed, suede interior, and exposed carbon fiber.

I have a refundable deposit so it doesn't matter either way what happens to the order. I just figured Id give someone on here the heads up since I have seen some people looking for MSRP orders. Having said that, I will wait one week before I cancel the order. If your interested PM me and I will give you the information.

I am interested in your rationale for changing your mind and going with a Corvette. Did you go with a special type of Vette? You had to be serious about a ZL1 or you would never have ordered it, but something convinced you to go for the Vette. I have never owned a vette, but my guess is you will not be disappointed. Did the dealer have any influence on your decision?

Extremely serious in owning the zl1. To be honest if this hold up hadn't happened I would have never seen the vette. It is the centennial edition grandsport so it has the zo6/zo7 suspension package with the gen 2 mr system (zl1 has gen 3) and the z06 brakes with the same tires as the zl1. It also has the dual mode exhaust as the z as well.
I really went back in fourth and honestly had no interest in owning a vette until I drove it. 3.95 second 0-60 time ain't bad with only the ls3. (according to Chevy site)

Anyways, I may or may not regret it.

I think you are going to like it. The Grand Sport is the one I would compare the ZL1 to. The MR2 is an option on this car correct? The Vette is lighter and I like the interior better than the ZL1. Does yours have the electronically opened doors? Do you get any driving school with it?

Yeah electronic doors, and the mr system is standard with the centennial edition. Driving school is offered (bondurant and Ron fellows) but its an additional cost. The interior is very sharp with the centennial edition. Lots of suede and badging. Hopefully I will enjoy it

Your ZL1 order is almost what I want to order, other than suede interior.
However, I need to see if I can get one locally before considering an over seas shipment + MSRP. This would be my Plan B.

Sounds good.

Toilets, good luck with your Vette. I have owned many over the years and they are wonderful cars. The only problems with Vettes is that they tend to have nit-picking small problems. I never had any major problems just little annoying gremlins.

Thanks Jedi!

Hey toilets, the ZL1 allocation that you have, where is the dealer located at? I may have a buddy that might be interested. Thanks.

That is one awesome vette. I love those! As long as you don't need a back seat and you want a sports car instead of a muscle type car, then all is good.
Best of luck with it. You will love it. I loved my vettes, but I am a Camaro guy. They are very different, can't compare them really.
