I'm getting CTSV front callipers and ZL1 front rotors. Fom what I can gather the V and Z callipers are identical. But there is a huge price difference. The V set is MUCH less expensive. The Z has a two piece front rotor and is just a bit more expensive than the one piece V rotors. So I'm gonna get the Z rotors since they aren't that much more.

Hmmmm..... your car is slowly turning into a ZL1.... Might hafta call it ZL22

..... or as Pete would say, "ZLTuTu"

Darth_Emma 06-28-2012 11:30 AM

Chris:
Sorry if I missed this... but, are you getting the ZL1 hood too or are you having the facia modified to match the cowl lines on your stock hood?

I love the ports on ZL1 facias.

yeah, I'm a little concerned about the whole ZL1 Clone thing.... even though I have the power of a ZL1, I don't want to be a clone. I'm gonna put my SS badges back on just so it's obvious I'm not trying fake it... And going with the H grille.

Tu tu.... :mad0260:

I love the ports on ZL1 facias.

They are modifying the front fascia to line up with the stock SS hood. Again, I did NOT want to over do the ZL1 stuff... so Becky and Maureen's body guy modified the fascia for me.

:D

I'd do it if it were half the price. But for that cost I could get my front supercars. :)

I could argue the cut-outs were all a full refund but I have ZERO defense of my wheel history. :suicide:

You missed the Power Steering flush and fill with synthetic fluid and the cooling system and the clutch reservoir. You get a pass on the brakes with the Vs and Zs coming.

GTA-
Did they paint the facia and get you all the lights, etc? (I'd like to know what that cost. I've been thinking of doing it too. Maybe you could PM me...)

I'll do the PS and the cooling system in a couple weeks.

And I'm gonna separate the clutch and brake reservoir's and flush them both when I get the new brakes on.

Just need to get some Stainless lines and pads.

and the right brake fluid....

:D

Yes, they are shipping it to me painted and ready to install.

Maureen said she's got all the required parts for the conversion. The only thing I think I have to get is a switch for the fog lights.

I'd go ahead and shoot Becky or Maureen a PM. :D

If it's any consolation, I'm on my 5th Trans, my third fuel pump, third driveshaft, third clutch... 8th set of plugs, with 23,000 miles, etc...
