GM Performance CAI - Discontinued?
 

Can anyone confirm if the GM Performance CAI has been discontinued and if so why?

Phastek shows it discontinued and I read somewhere else (can't recall) it was being axed.

Still shows as a $580 option on "build & price" on Chevrolet.com for 2018.

Maybe it was my cell phone but I couldn’t find it on the Chevy website either.

The Latest version of the GM CAI is 50 State Legal. I had the GM CAI installed in my Camaro 2SS last October by the local dealership and cannot be more Happy. I am getting a 40 Miles Per Gallon average on the Freeway/Highway.

Maybe the first version that wasn't CARB certified was removed and replaced by the new CARB version.

Maybe they were referring to the version for the LGX. The part number for the LGX is 2016-2017 only. Seems to be discontinued at this point, at least for mine.

That is for the older P/N 23408280 that isn't CARB certified. I thought it was replaced by the newer CARB compliant version.


I checked the Chevy web site and it isn't listed with the other performance upgrades. Then I chatted with the Chevy web site and had them look up the Intake P/N 84329125 and the replacement air filter P/N 23408278. They couldn't find either one in the system. Interesting to say the least. Hopefully they have replaced them with updated part numbers. Good thing that there are other air filter options available for those that already have the intake.

Looks to still be available. When I ordered mine the site mentioned a month backorder. It took about 3 weeks as opposed to a month.

I had my first oil change last month....the dealer quoted me a price plus installation.

Most I get is about 32... with Cold Air Inductions CAI... that’s on a good day..

I am reading the mileage information off of my Driver Information Center page on the LATEST mileage figures. and for the last 10 months the 40 miles Per Gallon figure has been averaging that figure. I do not care if You disagree with Me, you can keep it to yourself. There is No Reason to Insult ME on a Public Forum.
