Wheels and specs

I would like to put some newer style trims on my 72. Like the 5th gen XL1 wheels. How wide can I go with stock fender clearance and ride height. What back spacing and offset? I'm not good with figuring this out.. so help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you

I run a 17 x 8 wheels in front and back of my 1979 Z-28 RS Camaro ,With 4 ' of back spacing in front and 5 1/4 in the rear .Some run a 9 instead. My car is lowered in front using a Vette Brakes C-4 adjustable mono-leaf suspension .If that doen`t help some I would check at your local tire shop.

What back spacing do I need in order to run 10" wide rims on the back and keep stock ride height.

I have rear 10x15 backspace 4.25" on my 1978.
Tire 265/50 R15
4.25" is minimum what you need.
But I would go even a bit bigger.
