Take the breaks off and they may fit.

BIGBLKZL1 01-13-2013 08:47 PM

Might be better to have a custom set that allows for breaks...

How are you going to get a 14 rim over 14 inch rotor with the 17 in caliper?
Use a bigger steel rem?

The Baron 01-13-2013 09:08 PM

thing is, they make a BIG steelie look alike.. 18-19 inch.. you could have this done..
its actually a really interesting idea

Jeebus BRAKE. THANK YOU Sharp ZL1!

/my brain is bleeding.

hognutz 01-14-2013 12:33 PM

I bet this company would hook you up.

http://www.circleracing.com/billet-wheels.htm

I have heard wheelviniques does custom size older style rally wheels but not sure about those.

BIGBLKZL1 01-14-2013 02:45 PM

Thanks, I am working with Circle Racing on it. 20" wheels come in 10, 10.5 and 12. Anyone know if going with 10.5 in front and 12 in back will create issues? If they do I'll go with the 10 front and 10.5 rear.

There is a company called Vintage Wheels that makes the Chevy Ralley Wheel in different diameters and widths.

BIGBLKZL1 01-15-2013 11:23 PM

Yes there is and they sold to Circle Racing. I think my project will cost around $5K with tires and hubcaps. Will post up when complete.

A set of 20's in these would look friggin incredible. Especially with the low profile tires on it.

Sorry for dating myself, but good luck with your project. It sounds interesting.

i like that idea

BIGBLKZL1 01-17-2013 02:40 PM

I am working on getting them photoshopped on the ZL1 as I have a concern they might look out of scale at 20". I don't want it looking like a tractor trailer wheel...

The Baron 02-23-2013 02:59 AM

Any news on this?

toyosuprablue 02-28-2013 01:53 PM

Very Curious what it will look like. updates please

pumpkinrancho 02-28-2013 05:11 PM

wheelvintiques

BIGBLKZL1 03-02-2013 12:23 PM

Decided against it. Not sure it will have the same look on these big wheels and didn't want to spend $5K to find out. They have the ability to make them but the hubcap will be the same size as on the '69 wheel. Just not sure it will be the right scale.
