Headlight bulb color temp poll
Who cares about the color temperature of their headlights, and how many actually like the most visible colors compared to the gross hard to view/unsafe blue light?

I like 4300K and feel (and have verified through research) that it offers the best visibility per lumen for night driving.
For the record, my car came with 6000K low beams and I do not like them, they put a lot of "dark" on the road and offer little contrast for visibility. I've tried 2 types of LED's with a normal color temp and neither would fit in the stock headlight housing. I will most likely retrofit to HID and drill the headlight covers to fit the wiring... I have 4000K LED fog light bulb that works well, but I can't find anything that will fit in the headlight location unless it's a blue color. I've also read into using the high beam bulbs in the low beam locations, but would prefer more lumen output because I do about 50% of my of driving after dark. |
I agree. The higher ya go the less visibility ya got.
