Quick question, when you unplug those 2 fuses, do you run the car for a while or just wait a couple minutes and replug them in?

Sounds like once the fuel sets itself... it is permanently set...

They are safe to use, but I am betting they affect fuel economy too. When I was a tech at a GMC/Buick/Pontiac dealer we would run into updates for certain performance concerns that would state that fuel economy might suffer. We typically didn't do these updates without talking to the owner first. I saw some 2-3 mpg decreases after the fact...so you made sure the customer knew what they were getting.

If they start advertising that they are reprogramming in such a way that fuel economy suffers, it might result in the cars being reclassed (just a guess, as I have no idea how the government treats things like this).

I know most of us didn't buy these cars for fuel economy, but some people will pitch a fit if their car doesn't get what is posted on the window...just like the comments about cars not achieving a certain 0-60 time. Heck, I would have been elated if my Trailblazer SS got anywhere near what was on the window!

No bro, you dont want to start the car with the fuses out. I dont even know if it will start like that. Id say wait 10 minutes or so and plug them back in.

id wait longer than 10 minutes. a few members have reported that they only pulled the fuses for 10-15 minutes and nothing changed, then pulled them and let it sit for a few hours (sometimes overnight) and the difference was there.

If it was a 10 minute pull they would have done that at the dealership... but they told him to go home and do it.

Took the car out today. I did not get a change to do a 0-60 run but the butt dyno sez low 5's. I did do one launch. I had it in "S" and traction control off. I brought the rpm's to about 1500 at let her go... It spun hard all the way through 1st and stopped right at the shift into second gear and then barked the tires into second!!!!!!!
Cant ask for more than that!!!!:)

Dude, these fuses don't just go to your radio. lol
DO NOT pull them with the car running OR try to start the car with them in. I'm not sure what would happen but it's not a good idea since they go to a MAJOR part of the system that tells your car how to run.

According to the Tech that my dealer spoke with, it will slow down again if you put low oct. fuel in it and will NOT adjust back up when high oct. is put in. If you use low oct. fuel, you'll have to reset the ecu again.

Good to know... nothing but 93 here so I guess if I'm traveling and can't find 93 I will have to do the fuse thing again...

That's what it sounds like. At least we know that low oct. won't kill you. lol

Did a run about 2 hours ago. 77 deg, humidity at 55% elevation 780ft, went a 5.3 spinning:):):):):)
