Snap-On Cordless Impacts
 

Hi, guys. I'm in the market for a new cordless impact. I have been looking at the newer Snap-On ct8850 of course, but then I seen the ct6818 that I can get pretty cheap. I have looked all over and haven't found and consumer feedback on the ct6818 impact. Do you have any experience with it? THANKS!

I have used both of the 3/8 versions professionally. Based on that experience I would suggest the 6818. The newer updated impact was terrible. I had to send it in for repair 3 times in a year. Also, it lost a lot of power after a few months. The last straw with it was a fuel rail bolt it wouldn't remove, I checked the bolt torque, it was 23lbft ��

I still have my older version, works great.

Just be very sure it's what you want. I get that Snap On tools are cool, but they are the Oakley of the tool world. You can almost always find what you need for a quarter the price elsewhere.

i have a snapon impact its a couple of years old but been faultless

my Milwaukee V-18 have served me very well love to update my set to the M-18 tho buddy has 1/2 impact with like 700ft-lbs torque- he loves it

I hope Santa brings me a Milwaukee 2767

I have used a Snap On 1/2 inch cordless and like it a lot. Coming off for lugs is EZ, going on use it to snug the wheel lugs then use a torque wrench to set proper lug torques

I have Dewalt's 1/4", 3/8", + 1/2" love them all. The 1/2" almost makes too much torque!

I had Snap-On in the past. Good tool but they don't support them long term. They drop the lines and discontinue the batteries and chargers after only a few years.

The battery matches a set of cordless drill and screwdriver I bought a few years ago. That would be a plus, not having another type of battery and charger around.

The Milwalkee ones are very nice. I have a 3/4" and a 3/8". Very strong, no issues with them.

Just ordered mine on Amazon. It should be here Friday. I'll reserve my one 5 aH battery for it until I pick up something bigger.

Mine came last week and buttoned down those strut clevis bolts without issue.
