Doug Thorleys headers installed
3 Attachment(s)
Simple one man job, 2 hours start to finish. Driver side installed from the top, Passenger side installed from the bottom. Had to loosen the exhaust pipe behind cats on the passenger side to make space to fit the header and reinstall the forward collector nut. These headers fit perfectly.
I apologize for the delay in posting my results and photo. Hope this helps others decide, I have no regrets with these headers. Sound is just a bit more agressive than stock. Performance wise, the engine revs a bit quicker. With headers installed using Dynolicious on iphone I recorded a 5.12 0-60, 8.87 @ 85.3 mph 1/8 mile, 13.49 @ 105.3 mph 1/4 mile. Stock w/o headers using Dynolicious I recorded a best 5.35 0-60, 8.85 @ 84.3 mph 1/8 mile, 13.87 @ 103.6 mph 1/4 mile. both runs were with a 225 lb driver, full tank, a/c on (forgot to turn off). At launch the tires broke loose much easier, (both runs same location) with the headers installed. I feel the DT Shorties were money well spent for my :chevy: SS |
