Grey w/ Silver Stripes a No No?

I for the life of me cannot find a picture of a grey Chevy with silver stripes. Is this color combo reserved for Ford or something? I am thinking about doing silver stripes on my SS, but I don't want to get egged or anything.

I got flak for having black stripes on my silver '74 Firebird because that's for "Camaro's only".

Dude it's your car. Phuck everyone else. Do what you like!

And that Shelby is nothing but beautiful.

+11 what he said

yeah, I've been thinking about CGM with black stripes but those silver stripes look pretty damn good. Plus would go great with the midnight aluminum wheels or whatever it is that comes with the RS package.

lookin good. i'd say go for it

I went with the cyber grey SS with the silver stripes . Midnight wheels and ground effects. Going with the dove tail spoiler when available. Wanted blue with white stripes but that combo was not available at the time I ordered. Now that the blues are available (at this time not jetsream. Bummer) I see alot of people going for the blue (to many for my taste) I want something a little more rare. The new corvette ZR1 looks awsome in cyber grey as well as the new Traverse The shade is a little different between the two. If the shade of silver is close to the supercharger cover on the ZR1 I think it will look real good. I do hope they offer Jetstream blue in the future. But looking at the current choices I'm sticking with grey I think it will be a little more sinister looking. To hell with anyone that dont like it . The new camaro is going to kick ass no matter what color combo any of us choose cant wait to smoke the tires. That Shelby is awsome not enough garage space (bummer).

I think it's one of the best looking combinations out there. No reason you shouldn't do it on the Camaro. Just keep it on the hood and trunk and skip the bumpers and roof. (and no, that isn't my Camaro)

Yes! Thanks for the pics...I definitely feel better about this now.

Agree completely with everyone, think it looks real good. Only reason I am doing black on grey, is for the stealthier look. That, and my wife thought the black stripes would make the car "less busy", since I went with the IOM interior.

Just in case someone tries to tell you that Camaros never came from the factory in Charcoal grey with silver stripes, here are two pictures of my original paint '81 Z/28:

I might paint my 79 camaro the same combo. I think it would look real cool climbing out of a big cloud of tire smoke.

Question. Did anyone see a camaro in the top picture. kinda hard to find it . WOW

SSintheOZARKS 11-12-2008 08:15 PM

What Camaro?

Rogue Leader 11-12-2008 11:59 PM

My current car is Black with what I thought was the Cyber Grey Hood/Hockey stripe package... However now I see the GM materials do not list Cyber Grey for the Hood/Hockey stripe package but Switchblade Silver instead. While I do think this would look cool, I think I'm going to change my order. I want to do Cyber Grey with the Hood/stripe package in silver now....
