Trickle Charger
Hello,
my Camaro is the first car which I will not drive in the wintertime. I have read, in an other treat, that there are Trickle Charger. I have never heard from a Trickle Charger or needed something like that. Because till now I drove all my cars over the whole year. Can somebody recommend me a good Trickle Charger? At Amazone I have found a Trickle Charger for the cigarette lighter: http://www.amazon.com/Schumacher-SP-...941479&sr=1-87 Can I use a device like that for my Camaro? Thank you very much in advance for your answers. |
Trickle charger should plug into a wall outlet. El-cheapo works fine... Walmart or parts store is a good place to look, shouldn't be over $30.
[edit] I see you're in Germany, just make sure it's good with your household current. |
Don't use a charger on the camaro but I use battery tenders on my bikes. Never had a problem with them in years.

I use a battery tender as well. It permanently attaches directly to the battery and latches underneath with a L hook. You basically run an extension, and plug it in and that's it. There are small ports (holes) on the trunk floor with plastic grommets. You just pull out the grommet and run the extension cord through the port hole.

I have several Shumacher battery tenders. They work great.

Battery Tender makes a great product. Most electrical devices are 50hz(Europe)/60 hz compatible. Although, you need to check the household voltage (usually 220V Europe) and plug layout.

I have decided me for a Battery Tender product and have ordered it a few minutes ago.: http://batterytender.com/automotive/...emisphere.html I think an american product is the best for my american car. http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/...lies/yes-1.gif |

I know you have some awesome tracks out there. Do you take it on tracks often? |

The higher the speed the higher is the risk to get rock chips or worse something breaks. And a big problem what I have is, that I have no garage till now and it is quite difficult to get replacement parts. Before I had the car, I told to myself - no problem if I need a replacement parts, then I order it in the US. But unfortunately it is not so easy as I thought. http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/...lies/sad-1.gif By the way, you are the lucky guy. I would trade high speed for a life in Canada or the USA if I could. |
Today I have received my Battery Charger.
And now I need your help again. http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/...lies/blush.gif Can I mount the charging cable as it is shown in the picture? Or do I have to attach the cable direct to the battery? http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/...e-s_head-2.gif http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/...plus-minus.jpg I'm sure that is a stupid question. Sorry. http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/...lies/sorry.gif |
^^^ I think you should connect it straight to the battery. Not sure it will work that way
|
Yes. I have mine done in a similar way. I used the + post in your pic and the stud that held the rear of the stock airbox which is right next to the + post. Has worked perfectly for 2 years now...
