What do we think of the L99 now?

Have opinions changed about the L99 in the last three years? I've got about 40,000 supercharged miles on mine. A lot of racing, really a metric shit ton of racing and "Knock on Wood" no issues. I have replaced my transmission and diff among tons of other parts.

That being said, am I lucky? Are we still concerned with the AFM/VVT parts on the L99? From day 1 I've always heard the concerns and still here the suggestions for an LS3 conversion. After this much time is this advice still accurate?

Agreed. Friend had 12k+ miles on his 680rwhp l99, stock valve train. Now it makes almost 800 and no issues. The tranny on the other hand doesn't like it.

I have had zero issues with mine. admittedly, only 10K supercharged miles and all street miles but abolutely zero issues with the engine so far. I think a good tune goes a long way to keeping the L99 and the A6 tranny happy!!! Ted and his crew at JRE are in charge of that for my camaro.
