"CARS" THEME / SAN DIEGO COUNTY FAIR
 

SAN DIEGO — The Del Mar Fairgrounds governing body voted unanimously Tuesday to make the automobile the centerpiece for the 2011 San Diego County Fair, which will run from June 10 to July 4.
Fairgrounds CEO Tim Fennell said broad appeal is important when choosing a theme.




In the initial stages, fairgrounds staff will approach car clubs and other industry enthusiasts to get a jump on planning its exhibits, Fennell said.

Agreed!! Would love to visit the Del Mar Fair again. It's been 15 years since I moved, but I have fond memories of the yearly event! Good luck, and keep us posted!

Following up on your interest in the 2011 Fair, are you interested in a day where a number of cars in your club are featured (driving in and out in the same day)? If so, I'm going to have our car rally coordinator contact you.

The other option, I'm looking for a "vintage" and new Camaro for our Muscle Car week for display. This would require the owner's) to leave the vehicle's) in our feature exhibit Theme building (secured, staff, alarmed) for a week.

Please let me know what you might be interested in and we can proceed from there.
