HUD display on 2011

Here’s the first video of the 2011 Camaro heads up display (HUD) function being started up and cycled through. The Camaro HUD startup features a very cool bowtie / Camaro graphic being displayed. It then quickly displays the default views — a speedometer with digital needle and speed readout, a speed readout with outside temperature, or just simply a digital speed readout.
According to the list of HUD functions however, there should be even more programmable views, including
* Vehicle speed
* Tachometer
* Compass
* Outside air temperature
* Manual Paddle Shift Gear Indicator (if equipped)
* OnStar Turn-by-Turn
* Audio functions
* Phone information
* Selected gear
* Turn signal indicators
* High-beam indicator signal
* Vehicle messages

That's all it does?? ... I really expected more for all the hype! Oh well, to each their own, but I wouldn't trade my 2SS in just to have that feature.

Basically, it just projects your speed ( and a few other small things ) on your window, but I would find it too distracting as I drive. I feel my eyes would be constantly drawn to it. I think the current dash board indicator is just fine for what I'm looking for and really wouldn't want to pay an extra $400 or so more for this. :iono:

well if that is all it does.. there is a company that has aftermarket that does that.
i can not remember the company but if i search i can find it. i think it was glowshift. so yeah for the extra 300 i think or more you can do that to your 2010. plus we have done a aduio setup in a mercedes that projects the movie or screen on the windshield. we put the double din monitor in the dash like the hud and it projected in a 8"x6" i think. forgot the size.

So is that a 2011 test mule? or a 2010 retrofitted with HUD?
