Assembled my Ranger Quick Jack yesterday in prep for installing extensive suspension mods. Model BL-5000SLX. This thing works great!

Any problem finding a good lift point on the car? |
I was real careful where to lift it. Note the position of the jack in relation to the car's underbody. Use the "Tall" Blocks. 1st pic is the front, 2nd is the rear (if you look carefully you can see the rubber block). Position the jacks just inside the rocker. Kinda hard to see the rubber blocks in these photos since they are on top of the jack in the pockets. I suggest you take your time assembling, and don't cut any corners. Heed the warning on not stopping the rise once engaged to the body and ready to lift, as none of these lifts are designed to hold the load until you get it at least 1/2 way up. So raise it until you get the blocks to just seat, check they are positioned correctly, and then raise it up 1/2 or full until the lock bar engages.

Bump from the dead...can you provide anymore follow up feedback?
I'm looking into the 5000 Series for both my 2000 & 2012 SS's. You mentioned using the Tall rubber blocks, which would be the 3" high ones as seen on their site. I'm tired of having to use one floor jack to raise the 2000 high enough to then use a second to raise the car to place on floor ramps/ jack stands (car sits to low to drive up ramps without catching the front bumper causing damage). I'm under both a lot for oil changes, tires changes, exhaust work, suspension, etc. These look to be a very simple remedy. Also, are there any safety locks, in the event of a hydraulic cylinder failure to keep things from getting ugly? I guess I'm looking for additional thoughts before moving forward with a possible purchase. Thanks for your time. Cheers! |
Yes, they have safety locks in two different height positions. For simple things like oil changes I'll just use a set of Race Ramps. They sell extensions for lowered cars and they work well. Exhaust work I use jack stands. The Ranger takes up all the space on the sides of the vehicle between the front and rear wheels making side access impossible. Suspension work, brake jobs and tire changes the Ranger is the way to go.

So it goes under the floor area and none of the pinch welds are used, correct ? Thnks for any info

Just got the 7000 for my birthday, and it made the coil over install a breeze. After lowering the car, I could still get each side under the car without issue. I got the 7000 because I also want to use it for my Avalanche too. Great piece of gear if you don't have room for a two or four post lift.

Use mine all the time. Pinch welds lift fine. Driveshaft axles and rear diff swap yesterday with quick jack. Angled the blocks to pick up just the front or rear of my f150 for small jobs. Oil changes and brakes on wife's Pontiac G8. Thing just paid for itself!

I know it's bumping an old thread, but this helped me make a decision to order the 7000slx. Free Jackpack included through Februrary. We have the Camaro, a Tahoe, and an Acadia so the 7000 should work on all of them.
If you order one ask for Jasmine at ext 162, she was very helpful and able to answer all of my questions. |
