Can a Novice install a CAI?

I'm, at best, a novice with cars. I know a bit about the engine, but have never really done any significant work on one. Is installing a CAI something that's fairly simple or is it best just to take it to a shop and get it done.

The CAI I was looking at was this one:

Yes, it is simple. And you can always refer to the installation manual if you get stuck. Give it a shop, it's a cake walk...

Simple, you CAN do it.

Thanks! Here's a picture of my baby. Got her last November, 2012. She's a 2011 and had 8,000 miles on her. I've been in heaven.

Nice car! The CAI is definitely an easy install. I did mine, with help from my husband, best part though was the install Roto Fab put together. Step by step from start to finish. I'd read the instructions, watch that step on the video and hit pause, then complete that step and go to the next one. Took about an hour and half. And no tune required with thE Roto Fab. Probably be some Fourth of July deals/sales this week! Good Luck.

Yep! Installing an intake system is a great way to dive in to learning to do your own mods. There are many good wright up's, how-to videos and the supplied instructions are good as well. You can also give us a ring if you happen to run into a snag! :thumb:

Please feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

I'd say this is 1 of the BEST items for a novice to install!

You can do it, and it's a good way to get your feet wet in the wrenching process because you would have to try really hard to mess it up.
