Price???

Looking at a 1985 IROC, Black exterior, grey interior, silver stripes/rims, TPI, power windows, locks, t-tops, a/c, automatic trans. 32k original miles, never seen winter, rain or snow. Car looks to be in excellent shape. They want 15k. What do you think?

Edit: I feel the price is sorta high. If it were an 1989-90 1/2 IROC, which had more horsepower, then it would be a good price.

Here is a link to get an idea on pricing, plus I highly recommend this app as well

Well, TPI is fuel injection (tuned port injection). It has 215hp, maybe 10 less than the 89-90 1/2, unless your talking the 5.7.

Thanks for the info on the pricing app, couldn't get it to work though, might be me, or my computer?

Try just typing in www.cargurus.com then you will be able to define your search and then put how many miles your willing to drive to get a car

Will do, thanks!

OK, I missed TPI in your post & I was thinking it wasn't introduced until '87. As for the horsepower, yes I'm referring to the 350 engine with 245 HP & 345 lb-ft.
I'm certain you can find a better price for an '85.

Thanks PDXSSCE appreciate the input. I'll keep looking, but will keep an eye on it in case he comes down on the price.

We paid $4,000 for and '85 Z that is pretty clean, it did have high miles though

King Nothing 02-08-2017 10:59 AM

Don't forget that the IROC-Z made its debut to the public in 85. That'll help with the worth, plus the fact it's a low miles 305

The price of these cars is going up pretty rapidly for IROCs and Z28s with low miles, unrestored and in good condition.

I'm looking of starting a LS3, M6, coil-over, GT project 4th gen this spring and I've been hunting for a good car to start with. Shocking how much prices have gone up the last few years.

That's whats tough about this car, it's flawless, everything is close to perfect. Only flaw is the power antenna doesn't work, everything else does. Since I don't have anywhere to store it right now, I told him that if it's still available in April, I'd give him a call. Prices are going up on these and it's only going to get higher.

Be sure to post pics when you get it!! The only car I'd sell my 4th gen SS for would be a IROC 1LE with low miles, ever since my first car I've loved 3rd gens (85-92) but I like the dash for the 85-90 better than the 91-92.
