If you had $1500 to blow on a stock ZL1

If your ZL1 is stock, or if it's not stock go back to when it was in your mind for a second, what would you do to it for
$1000-$1500

A set of long tube headers, an intake and a pulley go a loooong way on a ZL1. I'd start there.

I agree 100%, but I believe that be more then $1,5000... A tune will be needed as well

i agree as above but since thats way more than 1500$ i would say roto fab intake roughly 400$ and drag radials roughly 800$ which puts you around 1200$ then use the rest for gas since with those 2 things your foot is gonna be pushing that gas pedal just to hear the supercharger whine and tires squeal

this is a no brainer

1. Intake (rotofab for me $399)
2. pulley (I did lower some do upper) $565 for me
3. tune ($399 for me from jannety)
4. could do LS7 TB as well I think. $130 on amazon

headers are a great idea a well but nice sets are too much to pull off on this kind of budget and they require tuning as well. those are on my list next but coated stainless powers are going to nail me ~$950

I like these ideas but I'm trying my hardest to avoid any tunes because I want to keep my warranty.

1. Paint correction and Opti-Coat 2.0
2. GM convertible windscreen
3. Custom painted bow ties, strut tower brace, engine cover and taillight bezels
4. Smoke Taillight, side-marker and backup lenses
5. Black gill stripes
6. ZL1 special edition floor mats

supercharged zl1 05-02-2013 07:47 PM

Audio upgrade or cold air intake

SlingShot 05-02-2013 08:07 PM

I went with RotoFab and Solo HF cats & QTP cut outs.

RedCamaroZL1 05-02-2013 08:15 PM

Paint Protection Film ASAP!
Rock guards
For me, keeping it looking new as long as possible was first priority. It's already a blast to drive!
After that, then I'd go Roto-Fab
Any dealer accessories you might want like premium ZL1 floor mats or center console lid.

Buy time off work to drive around more!

Here's my route. Probably going to be a little more than $1500. I do not want to change the calibration.

1.) Data logger with wide band O2 sensor. I want to install this first and collect some data on the car in stock form.

2.) Rotofab CAI. Once installed will log more data and compare to stock.

3.) 5% Crank pulley for s/c over-drive. Log more data to check fueling and IATs. Hopefully these injectors will flow enough. Based on what others have done, I believe this will all work on the factory calibration but I am going to monitor it closely.

Depends if the OP wants to keep his warranty or not
