Turbo V6 to Stock V8 Video Comparisons

Hey all, since the turbo v6 camaro's have traction issues, quarter mile times may not be as representative of the turbo v6 power. I've decided to post links of videos of high speed runs (60-130mph) comparing a stock v6 and ss l99 and ls3 to a 60-130 run I made in my car recently on private roads:

60-130 mph Comparisons:

My turbo v6 13-16 seconds
Source: http://youtu.be/ogRJrF5gcek (in 50's stayed in 3rd gear until 112, downshifting to second at the beginning of my run couldve boosted my acceleration)

Stock SS 19-21 seconds
Source: http://youtu.be/nILUXJ0HSv8 , http://youtu.be/0Hvy9fSx6lY (85-130, and the v6 is still faster from 60-130)

575 hp supercharged SS: 10-12 seconds
Source: http://youtu.be/MYhVjk90uHQ

Stock v6 24-28 seconds
Source: http://youtu.be/ZJf-uHPbO14 , http://youtu.be/g6gK8zT4Prw
(Aparrently some v6 owners questioned my gains so I posted these references as well)

Conclusion: My setup is probably the most inefficient of all the v6 FI builds on this site but still make tons of realized power. Therefore the other kits are are well worth the money and this proves that the power of turbo v6's is transferred to the street and will outrun an SS!

Nice!! I was wondering about this and was wanting to see some numbers like you've dug up for us. Thanks!!

TJ91 12-02-2011 05:51 PM

HAHAHAHA AWESOME MAN! Love the for you haters! Awesome and HOLY SHIT!
After just tyoing how I was scared out of my FI craze, you have now pulled me back right in!

TJ91 12-02-2011 05:57 PM

hey PT, did you ever dyno it? Cant remember]
Imagine this puppy with meth and more boost?!

Pt_killa 12-02-2011 06:16 PM

Lol thanks a lot TJ and BC, why where going to jump off the FI bandwagon! Lots going on right now with all these builds. I never got my car dynoed, but I will eventually when I try to sell my car, but for now I'm satisfied with "on the street" results and butt dyno! :) I went to the track a week ago for 1/4 but I can't hook, spun through 1st and 2nd, let off gas give gas still spin lol need drags bad

Have you gone down the track with your current setup? I need some new tires and rims, I'm running the stock 18" heritage rims with stock bf goodrich. My summer 20" low profiles was even worse at the track lol!

cjt037 12-02-2011 06:55 PM

I not a big fan of the track but last time I did go they griped quite well. My fronts are stock 18 bf goodrich the rears are 20 han****s ventus st 275/40r20 106w

Lol too many LLTs popping and my car has already had a thousand problems  :yikes:
And sell? WHY?! :(
And I would definitly agree about your street performance, that v6 is a beast and definitly a sleeper.
Drag radials would definitly help, probably get some solid numbers at the track with your setup!
And honestly, my car will rarely ever see a track, but highway fun is what im looking for and FI looks like the best option for that :w00t:

Wow, that odometer is going up in a hurry!!

I'm 2 years away from doing serious work to my car, but I'm happy to see wht you "pioneers" are achieving!

Thanks for posting!

if you can't get traction you can't win, and bragging rights come from the tracks since my real drivers don't race on the streets

 lol. Just so you know some people like myself are content with our v6's and what we are looking for is extra hp when we want to have fun. I don't understand why every time a boosted v6 post new info the v8 guys gotta be jerks. We can have fun too, we are all part of the :chevy:family. :headbang:

Thanks for the videos pt killa. Seems like u got a sleeper in your hands. But you sir are in need of better gripping tires. The ls tires are not gonna work with you lol.
