zl1 royal purple
Iv read it increases horsepower and torque because it has less friction. Iv also herd its not gm certified for the camaros, but what i want to know is y are people saying its not good for camaros what bad can it do to a car when it causes less friction? that to me would make me think it would help the engine last longer and have less wear and tear on it?

I used it for the rearend in my car and had to pull it back out. Made the rearend noisy on turns. I don't think it has the limited slip additive in it.

yes, it is well known that such color decrease air drag and car will go faster since it will give better aerodynamic.. :bellyroll::bonk:

Its just another synthetic oil.
Gm has an oil certification program that oil mfrs have to buy into, which doesn't make it good or bad. |
Royal Purple does have a better friction coefficient, however with that it also breaks down much much faster. to the point if your are a drag racer you would change oil after each run. even on just the Friday night drags. I would not use it, but I don't like to change my oil very often.

Out of all the premium full syn's, RP is one we don't use. Amsoil for a premium, or any good oil (Castrol syntec, etc.) are excellent.
|
I used to make it and know one of the formulators personally so I'm partial to Mobil 1.
|
......IMHO, whatever GM puts in their rides from the factory, it's good enough for me....just saying.... 4 decades worth.
|
Going to switch to RP just as soon as I get my Z Max additives in.

I just checked the bottle that I had leftover and sure enough it has the 01300 barcode. All I know is with the RP it would groan like crazy in low speed turns, and now it's quite as a mouse. |
