gt500 slayer is comin around

Finally getting this thing to run the numbers more consistent

went to LsFest this weekend and made some good passes

10.42
10.32
10.28

all still on the 20" drag radials.. it went a 1.48 60 !!

Im slowly leaning on it a bit more and more.. I never get to race it in the evening so hopefully when I find some air I can get down in the teens where I want to be on these tires.

Some good track prep and 20's are the ticket.
That converter and meth are starting to pay off. Right on!
Did you spray nitrous down the whole pass?

The problem with my car now is the blower.. The blower on my car is shot. I hurt it trying to find the I.a.t problem. The car only makes 13 pounds of boost now. It made 15-16 when I put it together:(. I had a 35 jet in it for the first few passes of the weekend and it was running what it used to go in motor alone.. I started creeping up fuel and jet sizes every pass on sat.. I let out between the 3-4 shifts.

Your is a manual ?

No

Baron - just out of curiosity - are you running stock idler pullies or aftermarket? I ask bc I am also losing boost. My shop recently put a gates fleetrunner (green) serpentine belt on a ZR1 and picked up 3lbs of boost. Apparently it is very difficult to detect blower belt slip even on a dyno. Only giveaway was a loss of the 3lbs. Im going to swap belts and go to the larger upper and small lower idlers to see if that helps (more surface area touching on the upper blower pulley)

If you log you car at the track blower slip is clear as day. Your tuner should be able to see it on the dyno as well. It's very easy to detect. Looks at the psi on the dyno sheet. If its all over the place it's probably slipping.

Impressive times. What was your mph on those passes?

NASTY99Z28 09-09-2013 11:46 PM

When are you gonna put a real tire on it and chase down the livernois times?

Drew P 09-10-2013 06:56 AM

@ Supercharged - Logs have been run. The PSI did NOT bounce during track or dyno runs. No belt slip noise either. I would not have believed the fix but for seeing it.
