The Apex Motorsports L99 Catch Can...First Impressions

Alright guys, i received my Apex Motorsports catch can this afternoon. the first thing i noticed about it...its SOLID. this thing feels like it can take a bullet for your motor...lucky for it, all it has to do is catch some oil.

included is the can itself, the bracket, hose, and all the fittings required.

attached are some images of the can and hardware.

Ill also shamelessly plug the fact that ill have a red RX can for sale here in a few days lol. just sayin...

Looks like the elite catch can design I have on my L99.

I dont think thats enough hose for an L99.

It looks like it might JUST be enough hose for the L99 if you mount the can off the positive battery jumper terminal bracket on the right side of the engine bay.

There are some small differences, like the size (no big deal here), the mounting bracket (which I personally dislike and this alone would prevent me from buying it as I've seen quite a few issues using the radiator bolt as a mounting point) and the fact you can change it from a single port to a dual port. Overall nice looking can, and should definatly sell as it's a nice design (other then the bracket). But I agree, it looks to be just a different/slightly upgraded version of the elite can.

The can is not meant to be mounted on that side, the bracket is designed to mount to the radiator bolt or I may have cosidered trying one out.

Thanks for your order Denis. The L99 requires about 5 feet of hose, the LS3 and ZL1 just over 3 feet.

Thanks for the fast shipping!

Curious what issues you speak of? Is it a matter of the radiator bolt not being strong enough or will the weight of the can eventually bend something it shouldn't?

We have had zero issues with our mount or the method it is mounted. He is referring to his experience with some other product.

It's the same bolt, so the results "could" be the same, only time will tell. If no complaints I may try the can.

My bolt (as well as others I've seen) became stripped on the end after a period of time because the bracket leaves less room for the bolt to grab.
