lemon

I love this car but am getting real tired of all the issues. So far I have 2 badly warped hood vents, a bad hvac seal that's causing a loud fluttering, a broken power passenger seat back, gauged plastic in the rear passenger area, heated seats that won't turn on with remote start, engine misfires, messed up rear end, loose fasteners under hood and missing rubber grommet that holds air cleaner in place. I really don't want to but am strongly considering taking the lemon law path. Monday will be about the 8th time at the dealership.

Yikes... I know that people say there is usually some problems with the first year of a redesigned car, but that seems excessive. All sound like quality control issues.

people you talk too much without pictures!!!!

jdasnt3 02-14-2016 08:07 AM

That sucks. On the bright side, we have 1800 miles and a trip to the track without any issues. I would hope that your car is not in the majority.

laynlo15 02-14-2016 12:36 PM

That's a lot of issues. Sorry to hear

L&M CAMARO 6 02-14-2016 04:46 PM

Sounds like a Monday or Friday car. GM needs to make this right 100% for you.

It's a real shame. All of these issues is just like reading C5 back in 2010. Hope you make out better than I did back then. Why can't they build a quality product out of the box?

Don-T 02-14-2016 07:07 PM

Sorry to hear about all the issues. Let's hope GM gets it all fixed for you. They don't need to get a bad reputation on the first year of the new Camaro. I too have an issue with my new 2LT. The passenger seat back power tilt does not work. I can hear the motor try to move the seat back but it stalls as soon as it tries to move. I am trying to get everything else checked out so I can get it all done at once.

I haven't seen the internet GM service rep chime in on any of these problem threads yet for the Gen6 car.

They have in at least one thread here. I believe it was in one of the exhaust rattle threads, maybe mine, but it was in response to someone else saying they had a rattle

Yeah but is your car fully covered in paint? Sry, had to do it. Might be time to escalate this beyond the service advisor.

cooley376 02-17-2016 09:28 AM

Ha, I was waiting for that. Not sure. Weather has been so nasty for so long here that I haven't been able to give it a good wash with attention. The car is just nasty dirty outside. It's going in to the dealership again tomorrow, we'll see how it goes.

Can he take the lemon law path with all of these issues? I thought that you had to have the same issue unresolved three times before being able to use the lemon law?

I think so. I believe it varies by state.
