Finally painted rusty brake rotor hats

Got tired of that rusty look. Painting it was pretty easy. Left the rotors on, just removed the wheels, sanded off rust, degreased it, and sprayed right onto the rotors. Using card board cutouts to help block any overspray to unwanted areas. Then went for a little drive tapping the brakes lightly to remove any paint that got onto the brake discs itself. Came out great I think. Much much cleaner look. Next is red brake calipers. Here’s a before and after

Materials I used was just a sanding block, purple power for the degreaser, and high temp silver caliper paint.

Thanks! I thought I grabbed gray but it came out to a more metallic looking silver

Sometimes these kind of things play hell on your mental health until they are fixed.

Exactly bro! The devil is in the details!

How long was the process? I like it a lot.

Very nice looking job! When I put my 21" wheels on, which have a smaller center hub" I might end up doing something like that, hope not but now I know what to do incase.

Looks really good!

I bet not a day passed by when the rusty rotor did not bother you.

It probably only took about 2 hours for the entire process. If you’re quick with jacking up the car and removing the wheels then it should not take long. The actually painting only took about 5 minutes each each. It’s the jacking, removing wheels, that took the longest

This video helps a lot!!

So I guess asking for a picture with the wheels off is out the question.

They look really great. I have to do this to my rears as when I replaced the front I bought ones that were already painted. Thanks for the video as well.
