I Have to Know...
When I picked up my Z, it was already mildly built w/ heads, cam, and exhaust. It also came with the oem wickerbill, which was a big plus in my book. These things genuinely compliment each other, and have hollistically brought the car up to another level.
However, I have to know, what little thing have you done, or has been done to your Z, that really makes you enjoy it that much more? Was it throwing an aux cord in your console, or was it adding stainless brake lines? Was it the fresh Michelins that you just put on, or was it taking that different, more scenic way home from work? Please share your experience, I'm hoping it can be a conversation piece. :happy0180: |

These cars are mechanical works of art in original form but I must say I am very happy with the black gill inserts and 427 logos on my hood installed by previous owner. An all white car benefits from a few tasteful (but not gaudy) accents. My new Michelins I purchased are a big upgrade over the original dry-rotted Pirellis and I have to mention the tow-hook, I installed it just in case.

Nothing little about mine, but definitely the first track day would have to be at the top of my list. Having the engine upgrades, wing, dedicated track wheels.... and MILEAGE. I've put almost 20k on it since I bought it, and won't stop. Hovering at almost 59k.
Although, perhaps the single best thing was when we bought my wife hers. Having both out on track has been an amazing feeling, and even just driving side by side I get the biggest grin ever. |
Street tires.
... Though the Trofeo Rs made it STICK to the road. |
Paint correction/ceramic coating was the best money I've ever spent on any vehicle I've ever owned

I would've stayed stock with mine honestly. Next one I own is staying stock. Last one had was FBO and I kicked myself from the day I had it upgraded for not staying stock. The tires and stereo are essential upgrades though IMO.

Hmm interesting and would like to know why you wished you would have left it stock? I was thinking if I were to ever get one I would have probably done some bolt ons or eventually a heads cam package. It would have been the first car I would have start modding is it not worth doing so or is it because the Z is special how it is and best not to tinker with it? |
The best thing was driving round trip to and through long island( before covid19) with my son. Load it up and drive back home all in 1 swoop. I used to do that in my youth and to do that with my son was great.
I am enjoying going back on some of the previous owners “upgrades” and leaving some. Removed black gills, front hood stripes, tinted brake lights and getting the CF hood vent back on the car. I got the mats remade by loyds since this was a dealer installed option on the window sticker, no big deal but it’s cool to have them. I installed stainless flex brake lines when I put new brake pads on. So I’ve just been giving it some tlc. But looking forward to either replacing the 315 cup 2’s or going G/Y 305’s. Any thoughts? Dry warm driving only, no tracking as of yet. |
