mrusse0213’s all out TSP build thread

We’re about 2 weeks out from going all in on my build and pulling the engine and installing everything. Thought I would post some photos of some of the parts I’ve managed to get for the build. We haven’t yet pulled the plastic off the 416 yet and the forced induction interchiller and Crawford racing complete fuel system are at my shop where the install is taking place. I will update with pics of those items once I’ve actually laid eyes them. Until then enjoy some pics of the parts I have on hand for the build.

Are there target power/torque numbers you're aiming for?

I'd like to see 950rwhp, should be easily attainable at this point with the supporting mods. It's just a street car so that's more than I'll ever need realistically. The car currently sits around 700rwhp. Similar setup to what another member on here was running and he was @ 955rwhp prior to swapping his 2.9 out for the 3.0 whipple. He actually sold me his old griptec pulleys and we talked over the parts I had for the build. He'd said its all there for 900+ just comes down to tuning and boost we'll see where the final numbers land. Ill be updating the post daily as the build starts and progresses.

Officially started the tear down on Monday. Still waiting on the C&R Racing radiator to show up and the DMS fender coolant tank both should be here in the next couple of days. The Whipple is off and out to Crawford Racing for the port injection modification.

Yes, I did say that. :)

Parts are all looking good, glad to see the install has started. Going to be a torque monster! Hope you’ve got sticky tires… ;) :burnrubber:

Thanks! It was a long time coming…it don’t come easy! :happy0180:

Crawford system is really bonkers lol. But it’s awesome and should let you rock and roll with no fueling concerns at all.

Good luck and keep the pics coming!

Can you provide the info for the ZLE front end? Where purchased? Fitment?

Its the Ikon regular ZL1 conversion not the 1LE. It may be a month or two before I get to installing it Im focused on getting the car up and running forst and foremost and throwing everything at that. Quality is good no idea on fitment yet I will update once we've gotten to that point but reviews say its a higher quality kit in those regards. The only thing I would recommend is buying the OEM ZL1 upper grill it has been reported it is an exact fit and it comes already painted. It is pricey @ around $600 but worth it to have the flowtie over nothing IMO. Secondly I would find a set of OEM ZL1 DRL's as well if going the non 1LE version due to the supplied DRL's not having ballast like the factory ones do. The OEM DRL's typically run around $2-300 bucks.

purchased via Ebay from the Ikon Motorsports store paid right @ $850ish shipped.

First Day Dyno Results

1 Attachment(s)
So it’s been awhile since updating we had some unexpected issues with getting the whipple back from the port injection modification we had to wait awhile on it to be completed. The car is still awaiting the Holley Performance EFI ecu they’re out of stock and looking like mid November before they’re back in stock. When it gets installed the full send tune and pulley swap will happen. Car has a super conservative tune in it right now. For the break in period we are going to leave the car where it currently sits and crank it up full send once we’ve done the break in and have the remaining HP fuel component. Currently the car is sitting at around 8.5 lbs of boost with low timing and running a little on the rich side for break in. Below you’ll see the numbers they’re pretty impressive considering a proper tune will most likely Net another 30-60 rwhp alone. Lastly when we go to the final tune/Dyno time we’ll be swapping out the 3.625 currently on it for the 3.250, 3.125 or 3.00. Another thing to note is the car was shut down around 6400 rpm which will change as well once break in is complete. Stay Tuned
